Lanterns Retreat Lodge

Really lovely retreat! Great location, only 15 minutes walk to all the cafes and restaurants. We had a standard room since everything else was booked out and it was very cosy and nicely decorated ( better than the pictures). My only complaint would be the cleanliness, bedsheets had some stains and overall dust and some grime that could be easily removed if cleaners paid attention to it. Not the worst though as we have stayed in Airbnbs that were much more expensive but looked like no one bothered to clean after previous tenants.Overall I would highly recommend staying in Lanterns Retreat and would definitely be back.

Warm welcome from Serge, a real French styling to the property. Beautiful rooms, spacious and super clean. Comfy bed and excellent wifi. Nice communal lounge and garden. Easy walk into town and to the beach, great location. Would definitely recommend and we would return.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation in a lovely French style. The communal area was very relaxing. We had the upstairs room with the balcony. The rooms were very clean and Serge the owner who was very charming and accommodating has thought of everything to make a stay comfortable. The worst thing about our trip was leaving and we won't hesitate to stay at Lanterns Retreat again.

Great location within walking distance to the town centre and the beach. Beautiful accommodation set in a lovely quiet residential street. We received a very warm and genuine welcome from Serge and a nice surprise of a free upgrade to the Superior King Spa Suite, which was very tastefully furnished, very private, spacious and comfortable.

Wow, what an incredible place to stay! The lodge is absolutely beautiful. Large rooms with the comfiest bed I have ever slept on - I seriously did not want to leave. Serge is a fantastic host, super professional and lovely. The rooms are so beautifully put together and considered. Serge has really put together all the small details that you want when travelling. I will absolutely be staying here again. Thanks for such a wonderful time.PS good rooms for singles/couples or close friends.

Close to town & beach, but disappointed room was not clean & restocked & grounds untidy & overgrown. Although no longer a B&B there was a facility to do your own breakfast but we were not told of this? Reading previous reviews & seeing pics it sounded & looked lovely but unfortunately it looks like it has been neglected of late ☹️

Such a beautiful house in lovely gardens. Relaxing and comfortable rooms and shared guest lounge... love the old colonial/French style. Perfect location a few minutes walk to the bay and the town. Serge is extremely helpful and was very accommodating with our booking. Highly recommend Lanterns for a short stay.

Stayed here in October 2018. Absolutely loved it. A stunningly unusual property with a beautiful, well maintained garden and verandah.Massive room, huge bathroom (great toiletries). Lovely and clean.We didn't have breakfast but the menu was good and came highly recommended.For us, it was a great location.I particularly liked the owners recommendations of local places to visit, eat, etc. Price for our mid-week visit was very good.We will be visiting again without a doubt.
