Woodfrog Bakery Kew

One of my all time favourite bakeries. I eat a lot of bread. I will buy a plain white sourdough loaf just to have for lunch when travelling - without any fillings or butter or anything. So I’ve tried loaves all over the world.WoodFrog makes the most beautiful white sour dough, properly aged before baking. So many other sourdough loaves are not aged for long enough. Woodfrog does it without fail!!! Makes for a lovely tasting and crusty loaf.We like their plain croissants too. (Not sure if they are sourdough; we don’t think they are; it’s not possible, is it?)I don’t agree with other reviewers who say they’re expensive. A$6.50 for a white sourdough loaf is not expensive when supermarket bread is $6 to $9.

I bought dates scone, almond croissant, chocolate croissant and hot Cross buns today, they are quite pricey but the quality is good. Tried everything and a bit of scone then got diarrhoea, after few hours had the rest of he scone and got diarrhoea again, I guess it’s because the dates scone I had today as other in the family okay, they didn’t touch the scone. Just stated here for your reference in case others have the dates scone today had the same reaction as mine.

Awesome selection of treats! The bread is fantastic too.

Have been buying their top level product for years since they opened. The baguettes are probably the best in Melbourne. All the bread varieties are superb, and the chocolate babka is incredible

Best bread and baked goods!! If you go half an hour before close you can also get a great deal!

Now that everyone is over making their own bread, it's time to go to places like Woodfrog where delicious Sourdough is their 9-5.I love the pumpkin seed sourdough, and their pastries aren't bad either!

Very pricey for what you get. Maybe that’s why they don’t write prices.That’s a $10 fruit loaf btw - size of a small banana - 14 sandwich thickness slices.Less likely to be a place for someone without a trust fund :)

High quality, tasty bread - highly recommend the baguette, white loaf and soir loaves. Only reason for -1 star is inconsistent pricing across stores. Went to South Melb store last week and bought a white loaf for $6, at Kew it was $7.20
