I had an extremely traumatic birthing experience here and my baby was very close to not making it; entirely due to the blatant arrogance, negligence, breach in duty of care, ignorance, disgustingly poor communication and laziness of my treating team.I don’t know the first thing about delivering babies and also didn’t know the clinical procedures to expect during labour, but being a nurse myself, I do know how a patient must be treated. Every single staff member who came near me (with the exception of a BEAUTIFUL midwife by the name of Kylie), failed me; and I went through labour and birth feeling like I could not trust the clinicians I needed to trust in my most vulnerable time. I will never forget the trauma, I will never forget how I cried and I screamed; and how I was made to feel like I was not even a human. Post-op and post-partum care was worse than I could have imagined and it was blatantly obvious there was no care plans or communication nor coordination between staff and the multidisciplinary teams. The treatment of myself and my partner was absolutely atrocious and still (6 months later) causes me deep distress to think too much about.Do everything you can to avoid being a patient of Doctor Po. If you’re an inpatient in the post partum period and you’re receiving care from a midwife named Ricky- promptly ask for the team leader to allocate you a new midwife and thank me later. Be prepared to have to do the work of labour and birth while also advocating for yourself and know your rights as a patient and ALL avenues available to you if you feel you are unheard and not receiving the care you deserve!

Yesterday visiting Redlands hospital in support of my pregnant partner, a few of the nurses decided I didn't need to be there so they lied about visiting hours, and asked me to leave, then 3 security followed me the whole time while I had two kids. Feeling very demoralised and intimadated, my kids were scared and confused. I recorded the entire experience and will be seeking legal advice

My husband was taken by ambulance yesterday to Redlands Hospital, and I would like to say we have the utmost praise for the Ambos, Nurses, Doctors, who are absolutely smashed at this hospital, he was treated with care and dignity by these hard working professionals, it is so unfortunate that this area is outgrowing the size of the facility, come on Qld Govt, we need another Hospital. We can't burn these guys out like this.

I wish to ask that the ward staff continue to assist at the renal dialysis unit upon completion of the carpark.Their help has made a considerable difference while they have been there.I, myself and other patients have benefited from their help in travelling to and from either our private cars and or ambulances. They have been fantastic in helping also on the floor at dialysis, saving the nursing staff getting on with the medical care for us.

ER staff and paediatrics were incredible.Directed to go there with our very sick toddler and were treated amazingly.Staff earned the trust of our little one rapidly and made the whole process a breeze. Tests came back quick for a busy hospital. All they wanted to play when they were better was doctors and nurses!Thank you so much for looking after us so well!

My partner and I had our daughter at the Redlands Hospital and were very pleasant surprised with the follow up to the birth as well as the birth itself. All of the midwives were so helpful and very keen to share their knowledge with us as we went out into the world with a newborn. My partner got her own private room and was able to stay for 24 hours. She was looked after very well and I was even able to get some sleep too! Would recommend to anyone.

My experience with Reland HospitalWas a positive one. I fronted up to the Emergency Department with a bad cut on my knee which needed stitches. The ladies in the reception area were very kind and I was able to register with them quickly and efficiently. A dressing was put on my knee to curb the bleeding. Then I was directed to waiting room. This did take some time. But not too bad considering the amount of people to be processed. Eventually I was taken through, given an overall health check. My knee was stitched up and I was on my way. Overall a positive experience.
