Travelodge Hotel Melbourne Docklands

Good value for no-frills hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the location and lobby are nice. The twin beds weren’t very comfortable, however is okay for 2 nights. The bathroom was great, lots of counter space plus a long shelf running across it. The room is small, but fine if you’re going to be out and about all day.

Stayed here while travelling recently.. when arriving I was super excited as when I booked the rooms looked nice and the listing mentioned breakfast included.When going to the 'continental' breakfast the worker said nothing and said to help myself - was okay, food kept running out so small wait.I go to check out early morning and the very rude and short tempered attendant says the mediocre food was $20.... I was trying to figure out what happened as I am young and broke I do not have $20 extra to spend. She simply kept repeating I needed to pay and treated me like trash.I even still tried my best to not be an inconvenience so I paid and left... Spent my morning crying on the train :(((

Even though this hotel has a 4 star rating, I would give it a 3 star which is the most I can give because it doesn’t meet the standard of a 4 star hotel at all.No one changed the bed sheets, let alone cleaned the floors, probably the only thing changed was a few extra rolls of toilet paper, and that’s it.The only good thing I can think of about this hotel is its location, but this hotel doesn’t deserve such a great location. The bustling Melbourne metropolitan area requires more high-quality hotels, not the kind of hotels that don’t even know how to handle bed sheets and hygiene.Would definitely not recommend this hotel, very terrible experience.

Might want to consider another hotel if arriving late. Not a great area late at night. Front door sensor turned off after hours (no notice on door telling you this). After tapping for a while and nothing happened, I found the intercom and a very unhappy receptionist (apparently tapping on door is aggressive and requires security to attend!). After some further miscommunication I got to checkin. The whole process is poorly thought through and was overlaid with technical glitches and poor training.

Quite nice, spacious room. View was nice. Bathroom was small. Location not the best- street leading up to entrance was dark and I would not feel safe walking to the hotel alone at night.

A simple, business style hotel in a great location (right next door to Southern Cross train station and 5 min walk from riverfront). Very quiet despite central location.Polite, friendly staff. Smallish but comfortable rooms (beds, showers etc all good). Will happily stay there again on my next trip to Melbourne.

Lovely hotel, the room was very nice and neat. You are able to buy food and drinks from the service counter. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable. The travel lodge is a definite choice when wanting to travel Melbourne as it’s a 3 minute walk to a tram and practically right next to southern cross station. We stayed for 4 nights and we found it amazing. Sadly check in is at 3pm and we had an early flight in but they held our bags there while we shopped through the city.

This is my second time at the Travelodge Dockland and the service and cleanliness has declined. The shampoo dispenser was full of water, they only replaced my bath towels not hand or face towels, didn’t fix the bed, we were told we had to wash our own dishes in which there was no washing detergent in the room. We were told by the receptionist that we had to do our own cleaning. Definitely not worth the price we paid.

We loved this hotel. When booking my room I accidentally chose the wrong date and when I called to change the booking they were extremely helpful even though it was a non-changeable booking. Staff were very friendly when checking in and out. The room was average, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. The price was a little high in my opinion but it was higher on the night we stayed as there was a concert on at Marvel stadium across the street. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was again, nothing fancy but an average continental breakfast. Overall a lovely stay!

Clean, modern and as they call it ‘contemporary’. It’s definitely budget-style accomodation though, small rooms, standard layout. Think Ibis without the garish colours. I think Ibis might still provide a couple of tea biscuits though? No biscuits here. Definitely not the Travelodge experience I remember from 30yrs ago! Prices can vary wildly depending on the dates too. But I suppose if you’re accustomed to Melb/Syd room rates they’re probably about the same as their competitors. Location right behind Southern Cross station is very convenient. Staff were all very nice too. A fine enough place for a Melbourne overnight but you wouldn’t plan your honeymoon there and there’s no breakfast buffet… or biscuits.
