We had a wonderful time, this 2 hr tour exceeded our expectations and Rohan our guide was knowledgeable and made the experience very personal. This is a hidden gem, unlike other large sanctuaries in Victoria this is smaller, clearly supported by volunteers and has on show many healthy and happy animals native animals.. This a must if you have kids as it’s very hands on and interactive…. I think the fees are very reasonable for the experience we had and you can see it going into maintaining and building up the complex. Thank you Rohan.

We took a group from our Disability Respite Service through Jirrahlinga, and it was amazing! The staff were lovely and caring and knowledgeable. It isn’t easily accessible for wheelchairs or walking frames, but the staff brought animals to our guests who couldn’t walk the entire way and ensured they were included in the experience.I highly, highly recommend this place to everyone. We will 100% be going back, you’ll see Chris & Julie’s Respite Farm a lot!!

If you are closed, it would be a good idea to put a sign at the turn off on the main Rd. Before having people drive 2 1\2 klm along a dirt track just to arrive to fined out you are closed.

Rowan was such a lovely, kind, knowledgeable guide and we loved all the personal touches in this unassuming, beautiful sanctuary. No frills, just heart. Highly highly recommend. And we got to pet animals!!!!

A must visit place for everyone. Kids will love this place. Don’t miss out the Koala and reptile encounters. You can touch and feel the animals which is great. They have a wide variety of animals, birds and reptiles. Will be a great outing for kids especially. A non profit organisation, Run by a group of enthusiastic animal lovers. Kudos to their efforts, they are doing a great work. The Koala encounter is a fantastic opportunity for us the feel these wonderful animals up close. And you can touch and feel the chameleons, lizards and the pythons.

Such a rip off it is to charge $25 per person for showing us literally only 3 Koalas and 4-5 snakes. Rest of the animals/birds are the ones that one would find any day during a casual walk in the neighborhood/park or so.Honestly disappointed. At least shouldn't charge us this much for showing us those parrots that we get to see on daily basis on our trees. Only giving 3 stars for those 3 Koalas that I saw which made me happy because I love Koalas.Don't expect any Kangroos there. It's a trap. There was only one, literally one wallaby in the sanctuary. Pathetic!!!PS: The shop has some nice, fairly priced soft toys.

Took the grand kids along and they loved it. The tour guide was really great, well worth checking out. The park is a bit hilly so keep that in mind, I have bad ankles and knees but I managed ok. There is railing to help navigate the slopes. Congratulations to the park staff Bruce, the original owner would bd very proud.

Tad conflicted here with the rating. This is the only place where I’ve been able to see a wombat that’s not sleeping in its burrow/shelter. So yay for that. This is the smallest wildlife sanctuary I’ve been to which isn’t a bad thing but unless you have young kids with you, you probably won’t spend more than 20 minutes here.I recommend timing your arrival around the time of the keeper talks (where you go from dingo to koala to reptiles) that’s where you’re going to get the better experience (hands on) compared to if you went at a time where they weren’t doing it. (11am, 1pm, or 3pm)Weren’t able to pat the koalas due to covid. Was rushed through the enclosure while the lady spoke so wasn’t able to get nice photos.(Recommend Marcus over Judy for this one)Was able to pat the dingos, blue tongue lizard, bearded lizard, a python, and albino jag snake.Marcus was great with handling the reptiles around young kids. (Recommend going to Marcus over Harrison if you want your little one to have a pat or hold of a reptile as he wasn’t as hesitant to let kids touch the snakes and helped more with handling of all reptiles)There aren’t that many animals or areas here.Lots and lots of birds though.I liked the random dinosaurs throughout the sanctuary and the little photo ops.It is pram and wheelchair accessible. There are toilets and a small cafe.Free parking on Taits Rd.Visit here if you’re in the area.

We had a wonderful day at the sanctuary. The tour is relaxed and well-paced. Having set sections we go through and taking care to have small groups so that animals are not overwhelmed. It is no wonder the animals look happy and well cared for. It is structured so that we could spend our time looking at animals that interest us and there was hardly any wait while we got our turn for our up-close encounter with koalas, wombats, dingoes and reptiles. This is like a small group tour where each encounter is an up-close one that other sanctuaries would charge separately for, with a time limit. We had all the time we wanted, the keepers were friendly, caring and knowledgeable about the animals. It is also wonderful that the entry fee is going to support these animals and educating people. Love the quirky garden decorations and beautiful plantings, someone is obviously a bit of a gardener there.Been to good ones while living in Brisbane and this is the best one in Victoria I have been to (another widely advertised one I went to was terrible with sickly and sad looking animals).
