Grass Roots Yoga

I can see from other reviews people who had the same issue that I had at grassroots.. TERRIBLE experience with grassroots owner Shannon Barry. Had a weekly membership which I tried to cancel when leaving Melbourne. The link to the cancellation page was “broken”. I then emailed to cancel- no response. I called and left a voicemail- no response. Sent a follow up email to request cancellation- no response. One month later I realise I am still being charged by grassroots every 2 weeks! Called and emailed, eventually Shannon said he has cancelled the membership yet he offered me no refund for the overcharges.I requested a refund. He said it would take 7 days to process but one month later I still hadn’t received it! Had to chase it up again. Finally I have received it.Extremely disappointed because the other teachers at grassroots were lovely and I enjoyed their classes. Would not recommend.

Feel so lucky to live just around the corner from this fabulous studio, which I have been a member of for a couple of years now. Initially just for the Yin yoga, after a 21 day challenge in December I have now embraced the benefits of the heated yoga classes. Thanks to such a supportive teaching team, who all bring something unique to the room - sincerity, playfulness, inclusiveness, depth of experience, and above all - humour. I'm hooked!

Whilst the classes and studio itself are great, I decided to cancel my membership. My account was still charged fortnightly for 4 months after canceling. Multiple emails back and forth have been sent regarding processing my cancellation and refund of $542. A commitment of half the amount was made to be refunded which was never received. After multiple follow up emails I am now being ignored. If you decide to cancel you’re membership, ensure it is actioned straight away as you will continue to be charged and requests for a refund will be ignored. I am still owed $542 from grass roots yoga.

The best yoga studio! Amazing teachers, great environment, it's good to have the mix of yoga with the meditation in the classes. Myself and a couple friends have been going for almost 2 years now. Changed my life, Love love love :D

This is a beautiful space and my favorite yoga studio in Melbourne!

LOVED my flow class with Jyoti - she was a great instructor and the class was at a good level (not suitable for first timers!). The space is beautiful and I will return for sure! The only thing was the struggle of locating the studio - go through the car park and up a staircase and you'll find it ☺️

Shannon who runs Grass Roots is an amazing teacher! I was a beginner when I started at Grass Roots and feel so much more confident now. The other teachers are great too, the classes are awesome especially being in a heated room. Grass Roots is the best yoga in St Kilda in my eyes. looking forward to going back when I am back in Vic. Thank you Shannon!

Nice studio with all facilities you can expect for a (hot) yoga studio (lockers, showers, change rooms, coconut water, etc). You need to bring your own mat or you can hire one. There are different flows & heat.Teachers are amazing there (my favourite is Brenton Alexander!). Give it a go :)

They're crooks.Despite cancelling my membership months GRY Australia of 1/84 Inkerman Street, St Kilda has refused to stop charging me and has deliberately avoided my calls and emails.

Friendly, passionate and well-trained staff give a warm welcome, and help you to feel safe and supported on your yoga journey. With mixed -ability classes, this is a truly inclusive space, with awareness of students’ needs. Unlike other studios (that can be more of a fashion-show than a yoga studio), the grass roots experience is true to its name, getting to the heart of what yoga is about!
