Giggletree Early Education

There are definitely insidious issues and something not right with the management at this daycare.We were only there for a few weeks but in that time the new director had left, the staff we initially saw were completely different to the ones when we left. The staff had no idea who they were working with each shift and if the usual room educator isn't there then the kids routine would go out the window because no one else knew what to do. Credit to the staffs trying to look after the kids the best they can but the instability and systemic underlying problems do rub off on the kids.The last I heard they were trying to turn things around. I wish them luck but I wasn't prepared to carry on with a upset child at every drop off and pick up until they figured it out

i worked there for aprox 1 year as a group leader with hardly any help from the assistant in my room I ended up having terrible anxiety as i had to do everything. the staff were horrible. the centre was filled with unqualified staff gossiping about each other and spreading lies. i hope no one ever has to work here.it is a terrible place to work and that is why i gave it 1 star

It’s a great centre, I would highly recommend everyone to send their children there. Managment and staff are all so friendly.

I worked at Herston First Steps for a few months this year. From January 2013 - June 2013. I tell you now, it was the biggest mistake of my life. Management was absolutely useless. I made a few complaints about what I think should be done relating to the children (e.g. children shouldn't be outside with no shoes and no hats etc.) and management never considered it. When I started at Herston First Steps there was a lovely Director running the place and was doing such a great job. Once that lovely Director left, we had another lovely one take over who went on Maternity leave, then the next Director that took over after that is who made the Centre hell. Constantly telling lies and making up stories to Department to make herself look like the best Director. Illegally leaving children in the room with unqualified staff members and doesn't often check up the rooms to make sure the children are being well looked after.I would NOT recommend this centre to ANY parent or any child. My complaints have been passed on to Union and Department and I hope there will be a change of Management in that place. ALOT of lovely staff members are still working there trying to make it a better place for the Children..

We love Herston First steps!They look after the children and encourage them to develop.Our son is always coming home with arts and crafts!Thank you to the team especially Mr Han and Miss Kelly Anne

I had the chance to work at Herston First Steps I left under away I would hope no one else ever as too. Its now been a few years since. And I find It still finds its way to get at former members. It as had a great range of staff members and then there have been others. I have tried contact with their Director and no reply. I believe she as a hard job, and its a pity if she allows those still there from that time, to still do what they are doing. Management, when i was there, as since left. And I can only hope things will only get better for the place. I know of previous staff my self included that would have no problem going back, if changes are happening.Between bullying, bad management at that time, didnt help anyone including staff.I can only recommend this place as its okay, when i would love to say not okay. Because at that time, it wasnt. To this day, previous staff still hear, how nasty they are. This is still bullying, no matter what. If those still there wish to message me, please do. Please understand, there are still some good members there. Not all of them back stab/bully/harass anyone.All those that had worked with me and have now left there, where the rocks that made it bearable and for that im always grateful.So when you make a choice, Please go by your gut feeling.Its the best way to get a feel for a place.At no time, did management at the time, ever speak to me on the why i did what i did, and i dont ever recommend doing what i did. I was backed into a corner. But I believe new management is now looking after them,.

I love the management. The center Director and Assistant director are wonderful ladies. I did my work placement and they helped me to learn a lot.

My son attended Herston First Steps from ~14 months through to 4 years old and was always well cared for. The educators were very attentive and the programmes they provide for the different age groups/rooms were stimulating and ECE curriculum based.There was significant staff turnover while he was there, but that has been my experience with all daycare centres my other kids have gone through. I am happy to enroll our 9 month old there now as well.

My son has been at the centre for almost a year and he has loved it. His educators are very attentive and he enjoys their company.He's learnt so much and continues to build on life-long skills. Alison and the team are very easy to communicate with. Plus there's the added bonus of all food and nappies being provided by the centre. Can't rate them highly enough!
