Excellent place to stay. Cottage was very spacious and the location was central to many attractions. Definitely worth checking out!

We stayed in the Teapot cottage at Roland B&B.Firstly, the place had some great charm. It looked to be an old cottage that had been relocated to the base of Mount Roland, and being nestled amongst the trees made for a nice peaceful stay. The lounge room was nice and comfortable with a three seater and a single rocker recliner. The TV had most of the Australian channels provided through some set top box. There was a reasonable sized reverse cycle aircon in the room that kept the room warm. The front bedroom was cosy with two single beds and our daughter had no problems sleeping in it. There was no heater in the front room but it did have an electric blanket and the aircon in the lounge room also blew into this room. The bedside lamp didn't work though. The main bedroom had a queen bed with a mattress that felt like was a bit older and getting to the end of its life. Still easy enough to sleep in even for a difficult sleeper like me, but the middle felt like it was worn out and my feet sat higher than my middle. This room also didn't have any heating but it also had an electric blanket on the bed.The kitchen was clean and tidy and had suitable facilities.Bathroom was a bit on the older side but still functional. Lighting in the mirror wasn't great, but the room had a tastic heat lamp.Hot and cold water took a few seconds to start running as it appeared to be pumped when you turned on the taps. Be careful of putting anything on top of the cupboard in there as there's nothing on top except a big gaping hole. There was a second reverse cycle aircon in the hallway which helped with heating although it blew away from the kitchen so the kitchen area was a bit cool. There was a nice outdoor area at the back and front to sit and relax amongst the trees. Although the back door didn't lock however the back screen door did. Not a huge issue given how remote it is.Most of everything was clean enough, but the floors were very dusty. I was wearing white socks while walking around and didn't realise until after I took them off and they were black from the dusty dirt on the floor. The nearest shops are in Sheffield about 15mins away so stock up before you arrive, and do it early as the shops in Sheffield close early. The only mobile signal available there is Telstra, and it was very poor signal at best. The owners warn you of this and the food situation so you're well warned in advance.

It was a lovely cabin and even though when stayed there was no power or running water as string winds had caused a tree to fall on a powerline. The owners were really nice. I hope they give us a refund or our money back or a voucher though as it didn't feel like we got our money's worth with no showers or anything to heat up our food.

We recently stayed at Roland B & B in Tasmania. It was really a metal shed and very cold inside. Took hours to heat it up and make it comfortable. The interior was dull and unattractive. it is nowhere near anything in particular. It does not deserve the high rating of 9 -10 on Booking.com. We are seasoned travellers and something 'fishy' is going on with the rating of this property. It is not worth more than rating 6. Beware, it is very overpriced for what it is.

Very beautiful place to stay. Nice and quiet. Not fair to Sheffield and Davenport isn't far away

Nice clean tidy cabins located not too far from the lovely Cradle Mountain National Park.Well equipped kitchen with everything we needed for making meals at the end of the day after returning from the national park.Comfortable bed, big size bathroom and plenty of space in the lounge to relax at the end of the day.Added bonus is access to the washing machine and dryer to get some laundry done.Reasonably priced.

We stayed for 4 nights in 2 different spacious cottages and the stay was a wonderful experience. The spa in one of the cottages was amazing. Our host was wonderful, the cottages were clean comfortable and cosy. The location is convenient central to many places worth seeing. We’re looking forward to visiting again.

I don’t usually write reviews but, we stayed here 2 weekends ago & I have to say, this is one of the best B&B’s we’ve stayed at. We loved the special touches from the host - we had some eggs & bacon waiting to help us out for breakfast the next day, the guest information book had lots of information on things to do nearby. We will definitely stay here again when we’re back in the area.
