Woodfrog Bakery South Melbourne

This bakery is my favourite! Freshly baked bread, scones are so good and they’ve the best croissants; almond or plain you can’t go wrong + very friendly staff!There’s always a smile, a small chat that makes your visit very special. I don’t normally leave reviews but this place and it’s friendly staff deserves a global recognition.

Went back to this bakery after a few months of traveling. Was served by the same French lady. She was as rude and short to me and my wife as usual. She gave us the wrong item. Her eyes were glued to the iPad on whatever she was watching. We were treated as a non-existence. Agree with some other reviews that the products are good. but just some specific staff are damaging business reputation.

Bought bread from here last week that was so rock solid, my new bread knife wouldn’t even cut through it. Thought I’d come back to try again today only to be greeted by the worlds MOST rude person on earth. The Asian lady at the counter literally death starred at me as I walked in. No hello or anything until I had to ask her if she was ok and finally got a grumpy ‘yeh’ response. Walked out of there without anything needless to say and not walking in there again. Shame as we are local, but lucky there are so many other 100x better bakeries around here.

The bread here is fantastic, really first class always beautiful and fresh and their fruit loaf is to die for probably the best fruit loaf in Melbourne.

I have been there a few times normally on the weekend when I have time. The bread and pastries are great, no questions about that. However, there is always one staff that would spend too much time taking to specific customers (not sure if they are friends, or special customers) in a flirtatious way. She would make some other customers wait and wait and wait until she finishes her personal stories without any knowledge or awareness that there are some other people waiting in queue. This is probably not an ideal customer service skill in this industry.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Situated near South Melbourne market this is my new favourite bakery be it a little far from home but will be worth the journey! The bread is to die for - crunchy on the outside and so fresh on the inside! Scrumptious with real butter! The pastries are out of this world especially the almond croissant! You just have to try it. Combine this with excellent customer service and it leaves you wanting to return! It's a good thing I bought multiple almond croissants - mmm, I hear one calling my name now!
