Motel Nomad

I flew down to cairns to have my baby because I live in a remote community, My family & I stayed there for 1month & it was the worst experience ever. Our first 3 days of staying there my sons iPad got stolen from in our room, the day it got stolen we were heading out the door as the house keepers enter our room to clean. When we came back a few hours lately the iPad was gone from the charger next to the bed side table. I went to management straight away & she blamed me for leaving the door unlocked when the housekeepers was the last people in there. Personally I blame housekeepers for taking it because they were the last people on there, after that I felt a bad vibe from one of the house keepers it’s like she was guilty, they even went through my clothes. Management couldn’t do anything about she didn’t even bother to talk her staff instead just blamed me, that was one incident. We had stuff stolen from inside out car and at the back of our car, people parting, fighting & carrying on on hotel premises. 9pm at night I accidentally locked the keys inside our room I tried calling the after hours number over 50 times no on picked up & didn’t even return my call the next day, we had to book another motel for the night for my family. worst motel experience ever. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Not the cleanest place i have stayed. The couch smelled like a dog had been sitting on it, (not a clean dog) . The pillows had clean linen on then but smelled strongly of some sort of deoderiser and when you removed the pillow linen the pilloiws were stained , like old well used pillows.The accommodation is dated, but you would expect that for the price.The cleanliness and the oders don't make for a good custemer experience.

Although our check in was fine and the lady at reception exceptionally helpful and welcoming it all went downhill from then on. The room was spacious but grubby and tired and looked nothing like the Website photos. Dirty rug badly stained floors grubby shower with leaking shower head which affected the flow of the shower and for sure there had been no deep cleaning in a long while. As we had a busy couple of days planned and were only in the room to sleep and shower we decided to let it go without complaining. We couldn’t have any way as Reception was closed early mornings we went out and closed when we got back in the evening. However, on the morning of our departure I decided to check the bed to see what we had been sleeping on. Horrific. I have never ever seen a bed in such a disgusting condition. It was ripped and stained everywhere the base was also in a disgusting condition. I actually felt sick to think we had been lying on it. The pillows also were horribly stained and dirty. I left a note on the bed for the manager and I also sent an email directly to them. I have seen mattresses in better condition by the side of the road. Appalling that the manager or owner of this motel think that it is acceptable for guests to sleep on such an unhygienic and disgusting bed. I usually try to highlight the good points on a review but I really can’t ignore the poor conditions of this place

Emergency housing in all other rooms but ours. People knocking on our door asking for money. Nearly got robbed down the street getting dinner. Not safe. Manager didn’t care. Our room was damaged so they moved us to another room but made us pay more because it was an “upgraded” room. Broken tiles in bathroom, patched holes in walls. DO NOT STAY HERE!

We arrived at 9:45 pm to check in to our hotel. Management had already arranged for a late checkin and left a lock box on the door of our unit. When I entered the unit, I was immediately greeted by overwhelming tobacco smoke and before I even walked more than a step in, I noticed that the floor was scattered with rocks and sand as if someone had been living there for 2 weeks and then the cleaning people had forgotten to sweep the floor. The sink was left running to greet us and they had obviously noticed the smoke smell as they had opened a rear window for us in an attempt for it to disappear. The entire room was extremely dated and damaged. Worst hotel room I’ve ever been in and I’m not super picky with hotel rooms. I would have stayed there if it was just the dirty floor as I it was so late I would have just swept it up myself but there was no getting rid of the smoke. Managers were supposed to be available by phone but we called several times at 9:45 -9:50 and nobody answered. They did refund my money but since it was school holidays I had to pay$800 to get a different room last minute from another hotel chain. There was very limited availability in all of Cairns last night. Be warned and don’t stay here.

Older 2 story hotel needs to be remodeled. Water stains on ceiling, tube light strobes for no reason. The sheets have holes and boot prints on them that don't seem to be removed at the laundry. On the plus side the wifi is fast and they allowed a real early check-in. The desk staff is really nice and helped out with the problems that they could. It's pretty quiet at night for a nomad hotel.

Room was clean but definitely not 3☆. Bathroom very aged and no hand towel provided. The small fridge made a hell of a bang when starting and finishing the cycle. Other patrons were very noisy as the rooms are not very sound proof. The restaurant was closed.

WARNING - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! Worms in the pool, silverfish in the kitchen, people knocking on our door asking for money. The hotel was being used for crisis/emergency housing, which we were unaware of when making our booking. During our few days stay, police were in attendance, there were regularly guests sitting around smoking with their pets and children running around. We felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. We didn't even feel safe to leave our washing in the hotel's dryer unattended. Rooms were outdated. I had to stand on the bed to reach the air conditioner to be able to turn it on and off. Worst experience of staying in a hotel I have ever had.

Smoke constantly coming in through the huge gap in the door frame.Cops constantly there taking people away.People knocking on our door begging for money.Manager didn't care at all. Said put the chain on. But not safe to leave any valuables in the room. Not safe leaving the room knowing the residents are watching you leave and that your room is fully unattended. Very UNSAFE atmosphere.Did NOT feel safe leaving my bags in the office while waiting for airport transfers. Didn't trust the staff at all.Rough neighbourhood. 2 minute walk to DFO, but be back before dark!Threatened by locals.Lovely Thai restaurant next door, the owner gasped and laughed when we told him we were staying next door. He even said it wasn't safe.No food or Bar available. Function space looked like it hadn't been used in years. Everything was old and broken. Dirty birdcages on the upstairs landing.Dirty linen. No bath mat or face washer. Someone came in and pulled up the beds and took away the towel on the floor (using as a bath mat) but didn't replace the towel or clean anything.Rooms so old and dirty, NOTHING like the photos.The manager constantly lied and told us different stories about why the place was so dirty and why there were holes in the walls and doors missing. Manager's huge filthy dog running in and out of rooms.DO NOT STAY HERE!
