The elevators buttons are worn out and hard to read and it felt like the doors were actively trying to kill us, the sensor sucked so half the time it shut on you so you had to have someone hold the door open with the button or run out before smashes into you.The internet also really sucked, it's overpriced yet it barely even works most of the time, you usually only get 1-2 bars but sometimes it just drops out.The actual hotel is pretty ok, but it is old and worn down, the air-conditioning for our bedrooms sucked, it felt like an oven half the time. The lighting wasn't the best either, most rooms had dirty grungy looking lights. It does have a nice view and is at a really nice location close to the beach and shops though.

The apartment was a disappointment, 706 was tired and in need of maintenance and a big revamp - given its a 3 bedroom apartment booked for almost 3 weeks, its hard not to be disappointed given the money spent. The shower in the second bathroom overflows within a couple minutes. The balcony needed cleaning and was covered in cobwebs. Within a day of arrival there was ants all over the kitchen, and then they appeared in the lounge. All the numbers and indicators on the oven were worn off and none of the settings seemed to work. Lack of a basic coffee pod machine was disappointing. The carpet in the lounge is desperately in need of a wash / replacement. Stained doonahs, mildew on some of the curtains - amongst some of the other issues. Not a great impression given the premium spin put on this hotel. Certainly needs some money spending on the room and management needs to review their quality management processes as they clearly are not working, given the sheer quantity of issues in just one unit. We won't be staying again, and wouldn't recommend for the price.

If you get room #205 prepare to be… disappointed! We booked a two bedroom courtyard because we wanted space and our private spa.At first, opening the door, the room is quite spacious. And that’s when it went downhill. The amount of mould from the air-con vent / curtains / windows / frame, you would be forgive for thinking black was a colour scheme they were going with. The chase on the couch is broken, meaning every time you sat on it you almost had to get a hoist to lift you out. The main bedroom sheets were stained with black in spots (I’m hoping nikko pen not mould), the ensuite shower/spa was so filthy I walked to coles to buy wipes to clean it, and let’s not start on the white stains on the carpet, here’s hoping it’s yoghurt! If you have an issue and need to contact reception, you best be hoping it’s during business hours! On our last night we had an issue with our air-con, I rang the a/h number, where it rung and rung and rung. I then spoke to the most bored switchboard operator who said they would get someone to trouble shoot it, to be placed on hold again, wait, wait, wait, rung back around and got a second (but more bored than the original switch board operator) who was so rude to me, I hung up.Check out 4 days again, still waiting for my credit card release to go through, so don’t count on that coming back anytime soon. Our room is also located opposite the pool… the mum in me just wanted to yell ‘stop slamming the gate!!’. Obviously Mantra can’t control how guests use the gate, but it’s horribly loud and at all hours! Perhaps a slow closer or some sound proofing needed. 11pm and still hearing the yahoos and gate slams.10/10 would not be coming back!

I frequently attend this hotel to provide Hair and Makeup Services (Labelleame Aesthetics) for Clients to help them get ready for Weddings and other Special Events. Staff are great, location is very central to shops, bars and restaurants.

The staff were really nice, the location is perfect with beautiful views and the 3 bed apartment on level 6 was roomy, but sadly that’s where the good things end. It is old, out dated and dirty. Carpet was stained, shower flooded, our keys kept breaking and it was very expensive for what you get. Needs an update or lower of price to compensate or we will sadly not be back.

Stayed here about a year ago, wrote this review then:Generally it was serviceable. The roof area was fine. Car parking spaces were large. However it is very overpriced for what it is. While well positioned, the apartments are small, not cosy". It was not worth the cost
