We went for a motorbike ride and planned to have coffee at the Black Ant. We arrived and ordered coffee. Not greeted very nice upon ordering. Overlooked that and sat down. Always a beautiful place in the country and a lovely spot to stop. I thought I'd look at the menu. The lady behind the counter said oh you're looking for future reference as we're not cooking today. No explanation why as there were chefs in the kitchen.I went to the toilet, the bin was full with empty cans and paper towels. Sorry it was 11.30am with about 3 other tables. Very very quiet. No excuse for bins to be full. Rude staff. Slow service. Poor hygiene. Won't recommend and won't be back. Nothing in Kin Kin worth stopping for anymore

At our wedding, Pat & I chose to have a grazing table for our guests after our ceremony and a buffet style dinner for our reception meal. All of our catering was done through Black Ant Gourmet and we cannot recommend them enough!The food was presented so beautifully and tasted incredible! We received so many compliments from our guests on how excellent our caterers were and how delicious all of the food was.The pricing was very reasonable and results surpassed our expectations.My bridesmaids came to me during the night with beaming faces to tell me that when they entered the reception area to turn on all of the fairy lights and set-up the cake and cupcakes onto the cake table the caterers had already taken care of it! Jodie and her team certainly went over and beyond for us.Thank you so much Jodie and the team at Black Ant Gourmet, you really did such a fantastic job!

The Mediterranean Vege roll was full of flavour, absolutely delicious. Although we were left waiting to be seated while the door person was busy on her computer, the food was quickly served with friendly service. Coffee was great. We would revisit in a heartbeat.

A family member had booked for a 60th birthday lunch for Sunday. The day before they were contacted to be informed that the liquor licensing was not up to date, however they did not inform them that the menu, and style of service had changed (no table service). This was very difficult as we had a large party slotted into old church pews, every time someone ordered the whole table had to shuffle out.The most common complaint for our large group was the potato products (hash browns, chips) being stoned cold and the meat being tough (or pre-cooked). Two of our group members meals were also forgotten, and had to be re-ordered with wait staff.The most poignant reason for this review is the food poisoning caused from a pre-bottled green juice that was shared by a child and one of the adults. Approximately 30 minutes after both had left the venue they were sick in their vehicles.I understand the venue has changed hands, as my family members previously loved enjoying Sunday lunch at Black Ant. We will not be returning.

Very disappointing. I had my wedding there in April and although it was amazing, I have been left with a bad taste in my mouth by the owner and management. The lack of communication was appalling, taking up to 4 weeks to reply to my emails in regards to important information about the day. The tab was started so early that is had almost run out by the time we got back to the reception. Despite family members stating it wasn’t to start till we got back, they responded rudely saying they had written instruction from myself. Of which I have no recollection and can not find any emails saying so. There was clearly an issue with the grey water system as the smell of sewage was awful, if you’re going to hold events, at least have the capacity to do so. They also ran out of great northern, rum and wild turkey within an hour. When questioned as to why they didn’t have any more, they said they had a function the night before. Which is hardly an excuse. The following day when we went to collect our decorations, Jodie was unbelievably rude and unkind. The food was fantastic but I would not recommend this place for a wedding.

The Black Ant Gourmet catered for our wedding and did the most spectacular job, everyone enjoyed their delicious food and their service was so amazing. We can’t thank and recommend them enough!

Amazing food prepared by new chefs/ owners and service was friendly and efficient. Well done all concerned given the short time you had to get things up and running.
