If you need a removalist company, please don't use Kent. They lost our sofa and damaged some of our goods (microwave and washing machine). We contacted the company several times about our sofa and they just denied responsibility. Now we are in a new place, without our sofa and have to spend money in something that I already had and they just lost. So unfair.

If you're thinking of using Kent, I'll let you know my adventures with them to date.I have moved our family twice with Kent. The only reason I used them the 2nd time was because I firmly believe in giving people a second chance to improve - in this case it backfired big time.1st time: paid for a full pack and move into storage before our renovation. Team arrived and had no idea they were doing a full pack and had only allowed 1 day for the job. The team were furious and a bit angry - not our fault at all. They finished by 2pm, which ordinarily would be a good thing. But in this case they failed to pack the items from the built in robes. Communication and execution was no good in that case.But, compared to the 2nd time, the 1st was fantastic...2nd time, paid for a pack and move into a new property. Received a voicemail saying the team had finished, but they failed to mention the sized 10 men's boot hole that was kicked into the wall on the stairwell landing. I didn't see it until I finished work that evening, which gave me 1 day to fix the hole before settlement of the property. Kent were unable to assure me that it would be fixed in time, so I took a day off work unpaid to fix the hole. Kent then sent one of their drivers to try to fix the hole. When he arrived, he said he'd never fixed a hole that big before. 6hrs later, the patch was sagging, so I thanked him for his time and fixed it myself.When they recently unpacked our possessions from storage, it became clear that the team that packed up our house didn't give a toss about our belongings. Our brand new custom-made dining table had a broken leg. An art easel was snapped in 2.Now to the payment:Paid invoice in full on 24th October. Kent the same bill in November saying it was unpaid. I contacted Kent and they said it was paid in full. They sent me a receipt showing the date they received payment and confirmed I had nothing owing on my account and it was settled in full. Received yet another of the same bill saying I am 30 days overdue. Rang Kent and again assured the bill is paid in full.This company is a total car crash, from start to finish. Stay away. I have heard Allied Pickfords and Acrobat are great if you're looking for a removals, but don't touch Kent.

Dealt with a bunch of good Kent’s for my removal today! Dijon and his team were professional, courteous and we’re able to pack my effects with minimal fuss. Well done Kent’s Newcastle!!

We moved from Australia to New Zealand and discovered our weights equipment was lost/stolen (which we paid extra to have sent on the container).When we raised it with them all they said was we could claim insurance, there was no internal investigation or accountability of the movers who appeared to have stolen the equipment. We’re pretty convinced they stole it because it seems a bit funny that all the weights and barbells didn’t turn up, which were approximately 50 pieces in total, but there was not another single thing missing from the entire house that was moved.With the excess being about the same as the price of the weights it wasn’t worth it. So it means that they can effectively get away with stealing goods that are worth about the same as the excess and know they won’t therefore be claimed on.We went to Fair Trading Australia but they offered zero assistance so basically they are worthless too and you wonder why they exist if they don’t do anything to help people who did nothing wrong but were stolen from and genuinely need their help.We’re sorry we trusted these ones we thought they were decent people moving our things and when we were signing the forms they all seemed so lovely and nice and nothing was too much trouble. When things went wrong the people who sold us the services didn’t want to know about it just suggested insurance immediately and we both knew it wasn’t worth it.While it was about two years ago, everytime we think of it we feel a real sense of injustice was done and want to warn other people. These people behave like criminals think again before choosing them.

I've used Kent before on an interstate move and was very pleased with the experience so I was expecting the same when performing an interstate move from Newcastle to Melbourne. All the people I dealt with were excellent, friendly, and professional right from the estimator, the move manager, and crews on both ends. We used Kent removals from Newcastle to pack our stuff and ship it to the UK. They were fantastic. Great sales Rep - Dillon and the crew who did the uplift were really great. We had a super steep driveway and they had to ferry all of our gear down to the container. Not one moan from anybody. In fact they seemed to enjoy the challenge.
