My 2nd time here following my 2nd knee replacement. I cannot think highly enough of the support I have received on both occasions from the wonderful Doctors, nurses, physio, OT and kitchen staff. Everyone has supported my recuperation in a friendly and professional way. The dedicated Doctors and nursing staff Betty, Roxy, Ann, Connie, Mark etc including the wonderful student nurses from Foundation college and my physios Kirsty and Nata and Molly my OT. Without your support and dedication I would be in a lot of pain and frustrated with my recovery. I can’t thank you enough.Although the astetics leave a lot to be desired the accommodation is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I can be relaxed as I walk out of here and home.Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart and please allow me to express my deepest gratitude in helping me battle this journey without you I would be in a very dark place.THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I would like to sincerely show my appreciation to the team of the North Eastern Rehabilitation Centre. After 2 weeks of Rehabilitation and Pain Management as an in patient after major spinal surgery, I left for home confident in managing my pain and further rehabilitation. The doctors, both GP and Pain Management, Nurses, OT, Phsyo's and Physiology departments all worked together to ensure I was able to return home and safely manage my condition. I was ensured that I had the all the best equipment to manage my day to day task's. Before I left for home my Workcover provider had notified me that all my home cleaning, gardening and transport services had all been arranged.I now look forward to completing part 2 of my Rehabilitation as an outpatient in the not to distant future.Once again thank you team.Regards,Anthony (Tony) Prowse

This is my 3rd stay here and I think it is a very good rehab centre. Yes it's old but all the staff are wonderful. Just had my 3rd spine op and when I got here I thought it would take forever to get back on my feet but 10 days later I am going home almost back to normal. The physios are all very helpful. There is a good hydro pool and nice garden to walk around. Not a hospital atmosphere. If I ever need rehab again, I would be happy to come back here

I was recommended this facility by my surgeon who is an excellent doctor and who has impeccable patient care.I had a call from Helen who 'sold' me on the facility and set my expectation that Dr. Lim would manage my post-op pain and then come up with a pain management plan to help me get off the prescription narcotics rapidly, which I have been taking on and off for about 12 months.I arrived at the facility on Thursday late afternoon. I settled in with an open mind. Come Friday I spoke to the nurses (repeatedly), physio and OT wondering when I would be seeing Dr. Lim (my treating doctor), not an unreasonable request.I found out Friday evening that Dr. Lim would not be seeing me. He would most likely visit me sometime on Monday or Tuesday, 4-5 days after being admitted. Once I heard this I asked for an immediate discharge. This is verging on neglect and this type of behavior should be reported to AHPRA, complete lack of patient care.Dr. Lim never made any effort to visit me once, despite allegedly being at the facility during my 28 hours stay. I expect that my treating doctor to come visit me once at least once within a 28 hour period, and if not, at least have the courtesy to give me a call and let me know he will tend to me shortly.I did see the 'GP' who stepped into my room at 7 am the first morning for 2 minutes. He was gone before I could even speak to him, he told me to speak to Dr. Lim.I often expressed concerns about the levels of pain medications and wanting a pain management plan to reduce my narcotic intake. I was told that Dr. Lim would have to manage that, someone who I had no access to.The level of care by the nursing staff was of the highest standard, however, the level of care by the doctors is verging on neglect.I am a private patient, paying top money for service. Room 33 that I was allocated felt like I was in a prison. I was placed out the back, away from human contact, the room, despite recently renovated it was very unwelcoming. The bathroom facilities are substandard for a private facility my guess from the 70's to early 80's.I had to share a bathroom, which is not ideal but acceptable. The other patient was a pig, I'm sorry but I have no other word to best describe him. He would consistently leave fecal matter in the toilet for me to flush and left a fecal stain towel in the shower recess, where I was to shower. Outright disgusting and unhygienic. After requesting a discharge, I was meet my the head nurse, at the time she was pleasant and trying to defuse the situation at hand. She was adamant that I should stay one more night and that she will get in contact with Dr. Lim.I politely requested to leave, to which I was faced with objections by the head nurse that it was not possible, as no doctor was on the facility to discharge me and that they had no access to the pharmacy, which my medications I bought into the facility where kept. So, I had to stay.I didn't respond well to this and after a short firm discussion, asking if I was being kept here forcibly against my will, she managed to find a way to obtain my medications which took about 2 hours. It was clear the staff had no idea how to handle such a request.Since leaving, I have managed to reduce my narcotic pain safely by half over the weekend, while balancing and managing my withdrawal symptoms (I'm not new to this). I'm seeing my local GP today who will assist me in designing a pain management plan and seeing the practice nurse tending to my surgical wound.I'm getting far better care from my local GP than what was provided by this facility at a fraction of the cost.I would not recommend this facility to anyone. If you do plan on staying, I strongly suggest you visit the bedroom and bathroom you will be allocated to see if it's up to your standard (avoid room 33). I would also make sure that you meet the 'doctor' who will be caring for you before your visit to rehab. To be fair, the main wing, which is a shared facility looks great, the outdoor rooms I would avoid. Nursing, Physio and OT are great.

My husband was there as a private rehab patient after back surgery in Dec. whilst he was warned it wasn’t “ fancy” we were shocked to find his private room was actually outside the main building… a bit like a horse box or a dog kennel! The care was good from nursing staff … his rehab was almost nonexistent. Wondering why he was sent there by surgeon at Cabrini??? When they have a rehab unit there. Terribly depressing room with no passing traffic… as a private patient it was disgraceful . No central heating ..a small dimplex , a minute TV .. dark , antiquated 1960s room/ bathroom.Ask why before being sent here. !!

My Surgeon talked me into coming here saying it was the best. Lets face it anyone who has been there knows the place knows its far from the best. Very poor service from Doctors and rehab physician etc. Checked out early as i felt I would be better of at home. There are simply many better rehabs places around, this place would have to be one of the worst.

Will not recommend anyone here... My father in law came to this centre recommended here by his dr. the nurse called Gracie who looked after him was absolutely rude and did not care for his wellbeing at all. Did not give him a sip of water even though he wasn't on any restrictions. Left him for long period of times without even checking up on him, and talked down to him because he could not speak english well.!
