My go-to for cake supplies! Aimee and her team go out of their way to design and customise orders for toppers and images and I am always left feeling accommodated and my expectations met. Something for Cake’s work is always of an extremely high quality and they are an excellent representation of a business that looks after customers. I am an experienced baker and always enjoy watching the team give advice and suggestions to customers who come in looking to get started and need advice on the best products to bake a cake or cookies! Whether you’re looking to bake your first cake or picking up supplies for your own business, this team will look out for you!

I have been shopping at something for cake for the past few years as a home baker that generally attempts to bake things that far exceed my skill level (kids and their imaginations) coming across this local small business and the beautiful ladies that work there has been a god send to say the least! They are always happy to answer any question or willing to help find the answers if they are unsure. I have come in multiple times with a vision but no idea how to execute it every time without fail I have walked out of there with a plan, the tools I needed and the confidence to achieve my vision thanks to Aimee and her staff the knowledge they have is indisputable.

I just went in to this shop for the 3rd time And the staff are so rude and not welcoming at all. I asked some questions Amd they looked at me like I was stupid Amd not the first time. I am not a baker or anything but like to do things with my kids.The staff member rolled her eyes at me huffed and puffed like I was an inconvenience in the store.Maybe a course in customer service might make it more appealing.I should mention it wasn’t the owner of the company it was her staff member.Will never go back need to have another shop like this on the beaches.

Called this shop and spoke to somone named Aimee.This is probably the worst customer service experience I have ever had.She was not happy to be serving me via phone at all.I called her out and asked if there was something I had done or said to make her speak to me like this, and apparently the answer to this was ‘shes annoyed by me re-asking questions’… People ask questions, and sometimes more than once ESP when they’re making a cake for a significant person and want to make sure everything is running smoothly.I was cut off numerous times to a point where I asked her “if she could not hear me or if she was choosing to cut me off” and her response was, “you’re cutting me off so im cutting you off” -I was not cutting her off, I just couldn’t get a word in! Secondly, is that a good enough reason to cut someone off – an eye for any eye?I wont be coming back here- which is a shame because I have heard amazing things about the look and quality of the products at this place.I have re-editd this post because I did feel my honesty was too much and I do want to think the better and assume she could have been having an off day?Whether this was during business or in life…never ok to speak to people like this. And it seems like I am definitely not the first to complain.I am not okay with people treating others like this- myself or anyone else for that matter.This place needs to see some patterns based off previous reviews and start addressing some serious issues.

Very disappointed in the customer service. In an industry such as this, customer service is everything. I have used Something for Cake numerous times and the customer service has always been excellent. I was thrilled to find a cake decorating place on the Northern Beaches after a not so positive experience elsewhere. It was a refreshing change. Unfortunately, Something for Cake has begun to follow other cake decorator attitudes. I was very disappointed this week after trying to get in contact with them for nearly a week beforehand to have a cake topper made for my sons 21st Birthday Party this weekend. A couple of the emails I sent through their website apparently never arrived in their email box (something that needs to be looked into) and when I finally reached them on Wednesday was told it was not possible to do the cake topper for my sons 21st this weekend at such short notice. REALLY???Previously, they would have bent over backwards to help. I was warned by someone else who now no longer uses you. I told them Something for Cake has always had great service to which I was told not any more. Unfortunately, they were correct. I was told on Wednesday they couldn't help me with such a short time frame - even though I had been trying to get in contact with them last week. When I asked if there was somewhere else that could help me, I was told, not at this short time frame. Fortunately, I found a girl in Newcastle, who was really lovely and made me the cake topper, sent via parcel past and I have it today ready for the party this weekend.

I’m sooo thankful that Something for Cake exists! It’s where I get everything I need for my cakes. Aimee is incredibly helpful and has gone above and beyond for me more times than I can count. It doesn’t matter how busy she is or how close to closing time it is, she will do anything she can to help me get the best cake result I can. Something for Cake has got that beautiful, warm small business feel but also an incredible range that is always changing and current. Big 5 stars from me!

As a small business owner, I can see how Aimee puts her heart and soul into her business. She always makes such an effort to ensure I am looked after and the range of products is not only vast for such a small store, but her designs for toppers and stamps are uniquely stylish. I am so grateful that we have such a wonderful store on the beaches.

As a professional cake decorator this is definitely my place to go. Aimee has supported me over the past couple of years and helped my business to thrive with her high quality products, efficient service and sound advice. I often ask Aimee for custom products and I’m amazing at the results each time, I don’t think there’s anything she hasn’t been able to make for me! I enjoy visiting the store weekly and chatting with both Aimee and Sally, they’ve opened their doors for me when I’ve been in a ‘cake disaster’ nightmare and helping me out has never been too much trouble. It’s such an extremely busy time of year now for us Cakers, but I can always rely on the girls to help me with everything that I need - it’s my cake community xx
