Hughenden Qld. Stopped here on our way to our caravan park. Hubby had a pepper steak pie & gave it a 10 of 10. Chunky meat. Best pie on our 26 day trip so far.

A very typical country Australian bakery. Very popular at 6:30am in the morning when we arrived there was a queue out the door. We had some pies and a coffee. The pies were great with generous filling and very flaky pastry. Lots of sweet options!

Yum yum yum. Along with the friendly smile behind the counter the pies, sausage rolls and pasties are among the best we have eaten from a bakery. Not to forget the lamingtons light and delicious. Serves coffee as well from 5.00am in the morning for early birds. Many more delectable cakes to choose as well.

Pies and sausage rolls seem to be the main items here, but they do sell cold drinks and make coffee as well. My skinny cap was good. Air conditioning inside shop was welcome. Couple of tables and chairs outside for convenience, but, although in the shade, still quite hot. Hughenden is hot. Nice lady served us. Not to be confused with the FJ Holden Cafe in next street.

We've travelled more than 30,000kms during our Lap of Australia and have supported small towns where we can. We love grabbing a pie for lunch. These pies have been the most disappointing pies we've eaten over the past 6 months. Very little meat, potatoes crust so hard that I couldn't bite into it.Very disappointing.

My husband had the curry pie and I had half the bread loaf. Diarrhoea kicked in an hour after, had to take gastro-stop. The next day my husband and I finished the remaining loaf and we felt sick in our stomachs - this to confirm it’s the loaf. Def will not come back.
