After initial start when facility all locked up, and waiting in the car park for 2 1/2hrs, we eventually gained access to rooms.Breakfast was made very enjoyable by the wonderful staff, who were most helpful. Big thank you for that.Rooms old but renovated, but not everything works, ie) doors didn't close properly, binding on frames, small bathroom heater worked for maybe 5 minutes then turned off. This could be a great place with lots of nostalgia if more detail was paid to finishing off.

Great little hotel close to the main street and walking distance to local pubs and shops. Loved the period style rooms that have been renovated and updated. Complimentary breakfast and friendly staff tops of a great overnight stay. Recommended!

Beautiful place, but let down by cheap? polyester bedding which meant 2 poor nights of overheated sleep for me

Unaccommodating and rude. During a holiday season where bookings are high, we had an emergency come up which required us to change our booking by 1 day. There wasn't a second of consideration of the request before i was harshly snapped at, Its School holidays

Where do I begin? It was one of my best hotel stays I've ever had. I travel for a living and stay at hotels 8x per month, and this place just seems to get it all right.I booked this hotel because it offered tesla charging. There are two tesla charging car park spots. It is based on a first come first served and cannot be pre-booked. There were two other teslas on-site during our one night stay, however there was so no issue charing the car. It took approximately 4hrs to get from 18% to 100%.Check in: Check in was virtual, and extremely easy to use. So ideal if you're arriving after hours. Each room has digital pin code door handle (you are texted an sms code) and their are no room key cards, which made the whole process such a breeze. I love coming and going as I pleased and enjoyed the contactless check in, which was such an added bonus and surprise! More hotels should do this!Breakfast: breakfast was included in the stay, and I wasn't really holding my breathe for anything special. I am used to eating on the road, so the thought of another hotel breakfast can be off putting. However I was pleasantly suprised, there were so many sweet finishing touches at the breakfast set up that other hotels should adopt. The set up was pretty, functional and efficient. It is a continental, no hot option. A selection of breads including crumpets, cereals (nutrigrain, museli, cornflakes), yoghurts, fruits, fresh berries, poached pears, cheese, ham, salami, muffins, butters and spreads, juices and water, and a coffee machine. It is a buffet set up and you help yourself. The room: I booked a queen room that had a window overlooking the road and river, it was actually very quiet and no complaints regarding noise. The room was upstairs, also upstairs is a shared balcony with road and river views which was pleasant with your morning coffee. The room is older villa style which reminds me of my house growing up in Auckland. A little maintenence regarding cracked wall tiles can prelong the life more and tidy it up, but otherwise it was nice and pleasant. The room had a big TV, and comfortable bed. It also had a heat pump /air conditioning unit which was efficient and quiet. The building and grounds: a really stunning, historic feeling building. I enjoyed the attention to details with the plants, paint colours and furniture selection. Very clean and tidy. The location is also brilliant and right in town. Walking distance to restaurants.

Flew over from the UK for a 4 week vacation and thought a boutique hotel would be a good way to start our trip.Imagine our surprise and horror to find the place deserted and the front door locked!!!After calling the emergency number on the door (at uk mobile prices)I had to memorise a second number and dial again to reach a human being. I was then told its a virtual check in and if you would like to drive around the back and enter the gate next to the broken pallets and dumpster you will find your room. Not quite the picture in the brochure. The fact that no staff are on site,no bar exists, and we have no idea of breakfast timings leads me to suspect we've been conned, welcome to Australia! It can only get better elsewhere.

The Riversleigh is located in a great building but unfortunately it lacks maintenance which makes it look sloppy. The interior of the building is nicely antique and has a high roof, which is nice. Unfortunately, the bathroom was ice cold with no heating, which was a little bit of a bummer. The Riversleigh also uses an online check in systems which is really helpful and gives a lot of freedom.

It's beautiful! We stayed in 1 bedroom apartment and loved the stay. The decor is tasteful, kitchen and bathroom have all that you will require plus direct access to the lovely garden was a highpoint of our stay....will definitely recommend

Disappointed. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel itself has charming character. Location handy to meeting locations and river walks. Lovely breakfast. All the staff at Riversleigh have always been exceptionally helpful.HOWEVER all the positives are negated by the online check-in system. On my last 3 visits the check-in system has not worked - it won't take details entered. The check-in system is intrusive - my 5 day visits are paid for in advance but the system required drivers licence/too many personal details. Such an unpleasant exasperating unfunctional start to a pleasant hotel. The check-in system is so disagreeable, so unfunctional, so intrusive and so dreadful that all other aspects of the accommodation are overshadowed.
