Mount Alexander Animal Welfare Shelter

Most of the volunteer staff are wonderful, but the management and committee are quite simply evil. Putting their own personal power and control fettishes over the welfare of animals and staff. They should be ashamed of their behaviour.

Great place. Very professional staff. They care alot about the animals they are trying to rehome. I have used there services twice in the past 4years.

I adopted my giant baby boy from here on Thursday. My life feels so much bigger when I look in his big brown eyes. Gorgeous staff, very few animals which is nice to see and a comprehensive form and pack when you adopt. They also made sure Rattles was the right one for me with questionnaires which made me feel like we really were suited for each other. If you are looking for a new family member I would recommend these guys. It's like visiting family and leaving with the best present in the world. 40/10.

The staff were very positive and supportive with our new pup. They really care about their charges.

Very professionally run. Humane and passionate volunteer crew. Dogs and cats receive very frequent care and attention. A wonderful community endeavour.

My cat went missing almost 2 years ago. I had him listed as missing do that perhaps he might turn up. Then out of the blue I get a call, he has been recovered.Very nice people to deal with, helped make the recovery process easier. Got him back today.

What a great animal shelter, so friendly and helpful. Animals are well taken care of A+

I first visited maaw 5ys ago, to adopt a cat, well talk about impressed, Rosie who was working there that day was so kind, helpful & talk about caring l then adopted the most beautiful cat. Ok 4 days later l came home with another cat & again so impressed with the condition the cats were in. Another thing maaw has an op shop in Castlemaine & all the money goes to the keeping of the shelter. I then also adopted a dog & again very, very happy. I visit the shelter & thank goodness Rosie is still there & what with her & all the other helpers l am very happy in knowing that all the animal's are being loved & cared for
