DOWNEYS GROUP tendered for some projects and they not only changed pricing last minute but constantly subcontracted their services to different subcontractors which had no accountability and as a direct result of poor management, our projects sustained multiple and continuous water leaks and damages causing projects to protract.Downeys Group went as far as not to respond to the Victorian Building Authority's determination in the findings of their poor workmanship and defective works. The VBA reference is CR10723 for those major findings are exhibited in the last photo below.If I were to engage this company then I must prepare more than what they quoted and also expect that there's a risk that the works won't be completed and nothing will be rectified.The reported leaks and workmanship were abhorrent to our judgement and those actions carried out by the company subsequent are in my view nefarious.I believe the photos displayed below which are not limited to all of the issues and the amount of water leaks will say a thousand words.

I have dealt with Paul and Ryan from DGA for 2 years now and have had a great experience the whole time. They provide quality workmanship and in timely manner. They also always ensure their jobs have the adequate safety protection systems in place so their staff are looked after.The girls in the office are always a delight to deal with as well.

After weeks and weeks of dealing with Downeys to obtain quotations (and after having them increase the quote), they pulled the plug on the job at the eleventh hour, setting me back weeks and requiring me to start over. Highly unsatisfactory experience.

We got DGA to replace our old metal roof and gutters and we are very happy with the result and the way DGA conducted themselves. All the staff have been easy to deal with and professional in their manner displaying an in depth knowledge of their trade. A special thanks to Ryan for all his hard work on this job.The box gutter we had presented several challenges for the replacement process and DGA considered several ways to bring it up to current code requirements coming up with a good solution for us.We did have one leak in a heavy storm, but the guys came out during the storm to fix it for us which was above and beyond the call of duty, so I am very happy with their work.

My experience was very similar to the other reviewer's. Downeys Group gave me a quote for a roof repair then after months of waiting they turned up and said they couldn't honor their quote as they'd detected additional issues missed on their original quote! Funny thing was that after lodging a complaint with GIO (they had come via GIO's HomeRepair business) I then obtained three other quotes myself all of which were around the $900 mark. Downeys Group was wanting to charge $3,300 and that was before wanting to increase their quote! I would be very careful using this mob and their customer service was very poor as well. Sorry Downeys, I don't usually post poor reviews but you need to be called out.

We commend DGA admin and workers on the professional manner in which they carried out our roof repair. Right from the initial consultation, to preparation and final completion. The workmanship is excellent and the manner in which the job was carried out was courteous and professional including keeping us well informed at all times. Contact when needed was easy and follow up responses were prompt.

My experience was worse. DGA completed 2 roofs for new houses and both of them had leaks and VBA non compliant. Worst of all, they never fixed it. I later found out the director is a roof tiler and that many contractors who worked for him said he did not pay them on time and carries shoddy work. Would have been nice to hear this feedback earlier.
