Whitsunday Butchers & Seafood

I fancy myself as a bit of a Prawn connoisseur and was blown away by the quality of the cooked RED SPOT KINGS I purchased last Thursday. They were absolutely perfect. A credit to the Skipper & Crew of the boat that caught them and a huge credit to the Staff at Butchers & Seafood for handling them in the manner they deserve. The young girl who served me was fantastic & packaged my purchase with ice to keep them nice & cold. Definitely 5 out of 5. Mmmm, Yummo.

Went to get some prawns and have to say, the sevice was fantastic! Best in Airlie so far! Young girl on the counter could not do enough to help us very refreshing to see a smile and friendly persona. She is an asset to the business!

Hate to say it but the red spot prawns i got this afternoon were a horrible experience. They were well and truly over cooked and definitely not fresh.

If here is where you are looking for smiles think again. Fresh faces but how ever lacking in perosnality. Staff look busy behind their work stations to busy to achknoledge customers that are probably wanting to order up big but they walk away. When i finally got served. I got 4 mini lamb roasts when asked what marinade it was done in the gentleman could tell me. 2 kgs of crumbed steak. 6 fortquarter marinated pork chops. Marinated lamb chops due to asking if i could get loins marinated was told no cant do that halfway threw my order another customer asked for it and they marinated for him. Inconsistancy in doing what the customer requires.. Taking home 400gramms of crumbs where in the bag of.crumbed steak discusting i payed for loose crumbes. Mini lamb roasts where cooked well in the oven good choice. Pork forquater chops. Inconistancy on the cut of meat some thin thick in between product placment in portion. Could smell seafood a mile away sticky as. Would i go back. Price was up there probably not i wouldnt revist due to being over priced, rude customer serivice and inconsistancy in service and in product placement and portion control.

Oysters and tiger prawns were amazing and at a great price compared to other local seafood sellers. However it was the great and sincere service from the lady to pack some ice on the oysters after a chat of my intentions that made it memorable. Been back twice since !
