After the most amazing engagement session, we feel so lucky to have Lucy as our wedding photographer! We were a little bit nervous to kick off, but Lucy made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Translucent photography (Lucy, Dean and Winston) is one of the best decisions you will make! From the beginning of our journey, Joel and I felt at ease with Lucy. Her professionalism and efficiency is truly unmatched. When she captured our engagement shoot last May we knew immediately we would get along with her which made the process so easy. Along the way she showed us some of the pictures she was taking which certainly made me feel at ease and let us relax into trusting her guidance.In the lead up to our wedding this May, Lucy was available readily over email to answer any questions we may have. We fell in love with Lucy and her work at my sister’s wedding. When we started to plan our own wedding, we knew we needed her to photograph our special day. We were tossing up dates, and the main reason we went with our date was because that was when Lucy was available. We couldn’t picture having our wedding without her there to capture every moment - she was ESSENTIAL!!From the very first moment we got in touch with Lucy, she was so professional. Everything about her and Translucent photography as a whole is extremely structured and organised. Every single bit of information is laid out on her website and in her emails, which made everything so easy. We were well-informed and aware of what needed to be done, when payments needed to be made, how to plan our flow of the day in regards to photos etc. This was fantastic, because we needed this structure in our lives during what was such a hectic time of planning.On our wedding day, I was so bloody nervous when I was about to walk down the aisle. When I got out of the car, Lucy was there waiting for me and I was so happy and relieved to see her. It felt like a good friend had come to help settle my nerves - and it worked - because from the moment I saw her, I knew everything would be sweet and that there was no need to be so nervous!!!The rest of the day was a breeze. Lucy is assertive in the best way and means business when it comes to taking photos, which is 100% what you need when it comes to taking the millions of family and group photos. I’ve been to weddings where the photographers aren’t as organised and so much time is wasted figuring out where to take photos, getting people into place, taking the right shots etc. With Lucy, it’s like her entire brain is on a whole other level. She just instantly knows what will make a great photo. Then she takes charge and captures it in seconds, with the photos turning out perfect EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!My partner and I are both very awkward people when it comes to taking photos, but Lucy made us feel so at ease and comfortable the entire time (both during our wedding and engagement photos!!) We had so much fun!!! We just got our wedding photos back and can confirm they are perfect. Looking at them is like reliving our wedding all over again. We are addicted!! It’s hard to know where to begin other than to say Lucy is INCREDIBLE!! Not only are her photos amazing, she was SO helpful while I was powering through wedding planning and she brought so much fun and energy to our wedding day.Her prompts helped my husband and I forget the camera was even there and we were laughing our heads off all day. Lucy photographed our wedding in Feb 2023 and we could not be happier.We were first drawn to Lucy for her brilliant photos — her candid, natural, moody style.What we didn’t realise was how amazing she would be throughout the entire planning process — from our initial consultation through to our wedding day. She was extremely organised and on top of absolutely everything — amazing responsiveness, processes, reminders, emails, resources, etc — and this is coming from a Type A person :) We especially appreciated how she worked with us to ensure our day-of schedule was tailored to our preferences.Lucy was also an absolute star on our wedding day. Lucy is an absolute legend! We couldn’t have asked for a more skilled photographer for our wedding, she was an absolute godsend throughout our day.
