I booked a phone consultation with the Port Melbourne office and I was ver happy with the service. I was able to upload information for my tax return prior to the appointment time so my return was pretty much complete when spoke on the phone. H&R Block Port Melbourne offer a very efficient tax return service and I will continue to use them.

I done my tax return last week with this company, I gave them all the information about my visa’s and was told by the ATO and H&R block that I was an Australian resident for tax purposes.But now my tax return has been submitted under working holiday visa holder? (Note I’m not even on that visa?)They charged me $160 and now I have to fix this with the ATO myself due to there accountant mistake.I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Nancy at Port Melbourne branch of H&R Block is a very competent tax agent. She is very knowledgeable and completed my tax return efficiently and very quickly. Nancy handled my 2017, 2018, & 2020 tax refunds & I was very happy with her claims on my behalf receiving terrific outcomes. Highly recommend Nancy to take care of your tax refunds affairs. Not much to say about the accounts department however, as I was debited fees, twice from my refunds for 2017 & 2018 & again for tax refund financial yr 2020. Although all 3 yrs were filed together for tax refunds the ATO first refunded me 2017 & 2018 then a week later refunded me for 2020 financial yr. As previously explained to me by Nancy that my total fees amount would be automatically be deducted by the accounts department from H&R block on my very first tax refund outcome which indeed it did. But then once I received my tax refund for financial yr 2020, I was charged another set of fees again. I had picked up on this after reviewing my bank account statement & noticed that the full amount I was expecting from my 2020 tax refund was lower than anticipated & discovered that the missing amount was equivalent to the total fees amount I was quoted for, for all 3 financial yr which was already previously been deducted. Of coarse I was refunded of this as clearly this was an error, however getting to my point I received no explanation or apology Email for such an error that had occurred by the accounts department for H&R block. A simple explanation apology would of been sufficient enough to avoid questioning the competency of whoever was in charge of handling the accounts Department for H&R block. This particular incident would raise many questions about how many times fees have actually been deducted from many clients Tax refunds before it actually hit their personal Bank accounts if clients do not scrutinised their tax refunds Effectively. All I could say is double check ur refunds to make sure u are not charged fees more than once, overall a competent tax agent (Nancy) dampened by an incompetent work colleague in the accounts department.

I am on a Working Holiday Visa, I chose H&R Block because I needed help. They estimated I will get about 1,200 AUD back, In the end the ATO paid me 38,00 AUD. So I LOST money by paying their service.They then said it's the ATO'S fault and I should call them, which was a pain.Last year, when I did it myself, I got more money back.THANKS FOR NOTHING
