Partner got a drink today and asked for some $1 coins from a $5 note he was given, she flat out refused and said well there's a bank up the road. Poor service won't be coming back to this store

A recent shopping experience on 29/05 midday at Woolworths Wendouree left me feeling disappointed. Despite scanning the correct item at the self-checkout, I was accused of theft by an older lady who seemed to make assumptions based on my race and skin color. This incident highlights the need for fair treatment and respectful customer service, regardless of one's background. The Purchase and Accusation: During my visit to Woolworths Wendouree, I selected a bunch of lady finger bananas and proceeded to the self-checkout. I carefully scanned the bananas, ensuring that I accurately scanned the correct item. To my surprise, the older lady supervising the self-checkout area approached me, confidently asserting that I had scanned the wrong item.Clarifying the Error: Refusing to accept an incorrect accusation, I calmly explained that I had indeed scanned the lady finger bananas. It was disheartening to see how quickly she made assumptions and accused me without any concrete evidence. It seemed as if she was assuming that people of a certain race or skin color would attempt to substitute the more expensive lady finger bananas with the cheaper Cavendish alternatives.Lack of Apology: After I pointed out the correct scanning of the bananas, the supervising lady walked away without offering any apology or acknowledging her mistake. This lack of accountability only added to my frustration and left me questioning the integrity of the store's customer service. It is essential for employees to take responsibility for their actions and apologize when they make incorrect assumptions. The Importance of Fair Treatment: Accusing someone of theft based on stereotypes or assumptions is not only unfair but also discriminatory. It is crucial for retail establishments like Woolworths Wendouree to promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and unbiased treatment towards all customers. Stereotyping customers based on their race or skin color is not only unprofessional but also perpetuates harmful biases. Conclusion: My negative shopping experience at Woolworths Wendouree serves as a reminder of the importance of fair treatment and respectful customer service. Accusing someone of theft without any evidence, based on assumptions about their race or skin color, is unjust and unacceptable. Retailers should prioritize training their employees to provide equal and unbiased treatment to all customers. It is my hope that incidents like this will be addressed to ensure a more inclusive and welcoming shopping environment for everyone.

Don't like the self checkout, it confuses itself and its user because I wasn't using a bag, only a few items purchased.

It's usually pretty good with service at the counter, product's as in pet foods are sometimes lacking and vegetables but that's a given considering shortages

Popped in the other day, & have to say what a great tidy supermarket. Special shout out to a super helpful young lady, for memory her name was Phoebe, apologies if I'm wrong!!!....(she had red hair). She was really friendly & helpful, so thank you. She deserves a sash or a medal for customer service.
