Discovery Lagoon Caravan and Camping Ground

Very nice and quiet campground, plenty of shade too. Simple but equipped camp kitchen, beautiful toilet blocks with very hot showers. The lady at check-in, which I assume being the owner, is just the sweetest and kindest. Absolutely recommended

We made a reservation at this campsite to confirm a spot on Kangaroo Island as many campsites don't allow bookings. Our communication with the team was fluid and, having come off a very late ferry, they left very clear and easy instructions to find our site. The bathrooms are excellent and, if you plan on using the charging stations, bring your own locks so that you can leave your phone, tablets, etc in a secure spot. Access to water was great and, we would have preferred the option of a powered site but, it is camping after-all ;) Great central spot to stay and close to Emy Bay Beach which you can literally drive on.

A hidden gem near Kingscote and Emu Bay!! We camped for one night and absolutely loved it. The facilities were amazing! So clean and modern. The phone charging boxes were a bonus. We were the only people camping at the time, so it was super quiet and peaceful. Lovely being so close to the lagoon. Perfect location, only a few minutes from Emu Bay and easy access to Kingscote. We are already planning our trip back to stay at Discovery Lagoon and have recommended it to family!

Although we had to replan and criss-cross some of our routes in order to stay here for a night, I’m so glad that we did and regret that we couldn’t stay longer. Upon arrival, the hostess received us warmly and gave us the necessary info.From the reception, the caravan parks and camp grounds are located on the opposite bank of a massive lagoon that was completely dry then. Due to the low season, very few sites were occupied so it was very quiet and peaceful. As the sites are quite near to Emu Bay Rd, faint traffic noise can be heard among the chirpings of birds.The sites, amenities and camp kitchen were all nicely maintained. In the toilets there were even small lockers with power sockets for charging gadgets securely. Just need to bring a padlock. The auto stopping of hot water in showers after 5 mins might be challenging to some but sufficient for my need.No light pollution and very few light sources around made this another idea place to take night sky photos, e.g. the Milky Way or star trails.

Absolutely stunning dog friendly campground with very clean, modern amenities. Close to town and KIB as well as beautiful beaches. Gary is a legend, thanks for looking after us. Well be back!

We had 4 nights in one of the eco cabins. Perfect location, facilities where spotless, any small thing that arose was tended to promptly. The beautiful emu bay beach is just up the road. It's so close to Kingscote. My partner and I loved our experience here and we will definitely be return customers. Thank you so much to the owners for providing such a unique holiday experience.

We were on a unpowered site with a motorhome. The plenty of space and its a beautiful spot. The amenities were ok. The reception is hard to find sonce its not on the campground itself

We stayed in one of the eco-cabins for five nights at the end of October and Absolutely LOVED it. The bed was super comfortable and the cabin had lots of lovely touches that made it feel really homely.The camp kitchen was excellent and was supplied with all the pots, pans and utensils you need to cook up a feed. It was also nice to have a wood burner in there to keep us warm on chilly nights.The toilet and shower facilities were fantastic and always very clean and the landscape was just glorious to be in. The site is also in a very convenient position to be able to reach a whole range of attractions on the island. We felt like we had total privacy in a beautiful natural setting.Dee and Tony were absolutely lovely and generous hosts and we really enjoyed having a good chat here and there. I absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again when we next get to visit the island.

We stayed here for a week on an unpowered site with our 23ft caravan. Site was large and able to fit our 4WD and have the annex out.Facilities were very clean and well maintained.Kerry was very hospitable and provide good info on the local area.

After attending the public campsites, this one felt like heaven. Excellent campsite. Amenities were very useful. I was very happy this place had showers and didn't have to pay an extra $2 like other places. Very clean bathroom. Don't bother going anywhere else. Stunning views of the lagoon. 10/10 would recommend.
