With bass Flinders museum closed so this is good option...rooms upon rooms of ship memorabilia...with stories backgrounds...large area with many building now offers as accommodation...

Low Head Pilot Station Maritime Museum
Visited the lighthouse and foghorn which is a short drive from museum first, excellent, interesting with knowledgeable staff then back to the Maritime Museum at the pilot station equally interesting in fact could have spent more time there. Thank you to the staff all volunteers I presume who must devote considerable time to the displays buildings and surrounds.

This was not my first visit as it is a good museum that tells the maritime history well. Not large but well stocked to show lots of good examples of what was used in the past. The attendant was very knowledgeable and very happy to discuss certain aspects of what was on display.

Excellent museum! Must Go to! Great for kids too, as you can touch everything (e.g. Morse code machine, bells, foghorn, working ship lamps, helm wheel, and so on). Very informative and the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the relevant history to the museum.

Wonderful local history museum spread across 13 rooms, Topics include pilot boats, ship wrecks and rescues and lots of nautical paraphernalia. I found it extremely interesting

Highly suggested for anyone interested in maritime and history. It was impressive how much equipment on display and how much it teaches you on how ships operate now and historical. Also interactive displays which were really cool and I'd say admission may even be under priced for the quality. Definitely worth a detour.

What a beautiful place. Thoroughly enjoyed the museum. So much Australian history and it was great to have some interactive pieces on display.The gentleman at reception was lovely and very informative. Glad we went there.Beautiful old buildings, lovely grounds and great views. Thoroughly recommended.
