The Book Shed

Second hand books that are clean, sorted and (mostly) correctly categorised for easy browsing. A quiet warm oasis in the middle of winter, with friendly volunteers who are happy to help. If you are looking for a particular book you can leave a request and they will contact you if it comes in. They accept cash or card. There is a trolley out the front for free books (donations appreciated). Mobile reception is questionable inside (especially if you are with Optus). Prices are often on the high end but the books are good quality. Downside for fiction lovers is you often struggle to find hard covers.

You would never believe the things you can find in here and at what prices you find them!It's a lovely initiative and excellent volunteer-run endeavour and I commend The Hut for their work on it. This is a great place to hunt for classics, pick up some airplane reading, filling out a collection or bringing the kids for a little trip out in which they can explore the realm of literature.This is a valuable place, full of endless opportunity. If you can't find what you want in the Coventry library nearby or in fact want to simply expand your own library with an item you've just returned, you just might find it here, and i believe that both services are exceptionally good for our community.

Great staff, very polite and helpful. You can find books there that aren't anywhere else. Prices are fantastic and all profits go back to the community. You're missing out if you don't visit this place.

Run by friendly volunteers, the Book Shed is a small(ish) but high-quality used book store. The fiction section takes up most of the space, although there's a selection of non-fiction too (call ahead if you're looking for anything specific). Almost everything is $5-6, but lots of the stock is in near-mint condition. If you're in Stirling with some free time, it's a great place to grab a book to take to one of the nearby parks or cafes!
