Matt is a school teacher and a musician so he really knows how to deliver his lessons to meet the needs of his students.I recently began playing the guitar after a long break so am basically a beginner. Matt is a patient instructor which comes in handy when I am slow at changing chords and passionate about his music which keeps up my interest.I would definitely recommend Matt and Merewether Guitar Studio to anyone of any age who is thinking about strumming a guitar.

I highly recommend Matt as a guitar teacher. I am a middle-aged beginner/intermediate guitarist who recently began lessons with Matt. Before my first lesson the one thing that stood out was Matt’s professionalism. His website, bio and Spotify records (A-toniq) is why I chose him as a teacher. When I walked into Matt’s studio for the first time it confirmed he was the real deal, a dedicated and passionate muso.I really enjoy the flexibility and feedback in our lessons. Two things you cannot get from online pre-recorded lessons. What you want to learn is up to you. With Matt’s experience, guidance and patience this can lead down some wonderful musical rabbit holes. Our last lesson, for example, started with learning blues riffs and melodies on the acoustics and ended with learning funk chords and strumming patterns on the electrics. As a shift worker, I appreciate Matt’s flexibility with lesson times, as I cannot commit to lessons at the same time on the same day each week.
