Soul Surf School

The surf school was organised and we were all thought the basics of surfing and managed to get on the board while in the water casing the tides and the waves!!Thanks for a G time, big love to all of them! X

Best surf school I've ever been too! Booked some group lessons first and then a private lesson with Caleb which was awesome. Learned a lot and appreciated the hands-on feedback you get during every lesson. You guys rock!

I had a great surf private lesson this early morning in Bayron bay. The coach Jules made me confident in the water and helped me to improve the technique. His great teaching method made it easy. It was so much fun! I was able to catch a green wave and it was my second time ever on a board. 100% recommended experience, thanks Jules ;)

John and Mat gave us good vibes since the beginning. Good lessons, nice people around and good instructors and instructions to level up your surfing. If you are looking for a nice surf experience, contact them!

10/10 to the team!!! I, like so many other surfers, have struggled getting my own girls up and riding and these home surf lessons have caused a bit of frustration to say the least. So when the Soul crew manage to get Lilly up and riding and coming home stoked on the sport I love so much, well I am just so grateful. Great service by people who love sharing their love of surfing!!!! Definitely recommend.

I did a 1/2 day learn to surf adventure and it was great! So much fun, very professional, safe & I learnt heaps. The surf coaches were all very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable & encouraging. Thanks for a fun day Soul Surf School.

We booked a 4-day surf camp and skipped one class so attended 3 sessions. We had a pleasant time - the instructors were very friendly, the classes were always on time, and well organized. However, the overall experience could have been much better in a few ways.First of all, we expected each class to build on top of the previous one. However each one felt like a standalone class where you don’t learn new skills and techniques but just keep doing the same routine as the day before / are out there with others who are doing their first ever lessons. The feedback we got from the instructors was very standard and we didn’t feel like it helped us improve much after day 1.Secondly, although the weather and the ocean conditions cannot be controlled, we were taken to Lennox Head beach that had a very strong side swell both days we were there, which made it very difficult to move our boards in the water - it was like a washing machine. Important to note that there were no other surfers at that beach, which is not a good sign. The same day when we got back to Byron Bay, the waves were smooth and the weather was calm, with many surfers out in the sea. It made us wondered if we could have been taken to better places to surf.One other thing that may be a small detail but is important is the rashies (blue t shirts you wear surfing) were always wet and sandy. This is only for a short period of time, before your get in the water, but it still feels gross and could be avoided by having two sets and drying the ones from the previous sessions.If you are a total beginner and want to get 1 session in, I think it’s a good school but if you want to improve your surfing, I would recommend checking out other options.

I would highly recommend Soul Surf school! I booked a lesson for my kids over the weekend and they both had a fantastic time! The staff were so friendly and patient and really took the time to make sure the kids were comfortable and had a fun! Both kids stood up too! They were so stoked. Definitely best surf school in Byron!

Great experience with Soul, went for a group lesson in the afternoon and we went to a very nice beach to practice. Instructor was fun and helped wherever he could but would also let you try things by yourself. Definitely the place to go for surf lessons around Byron ;-)
