Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Melbourne

I am regularly practicing Mysore at this studio, to my gratefulness and enjoyment. The studio has a warm, friendly and respectful atmosphere. All teachers are wonderful people with many years of teaching experience. Very advanced as well as less advanced people are welcome, and taught on their level aiming to develop their practice. I have been able to develop my practice a lot thanks to them. I can recommend this studio to anyone. Keep up the fantastic work!!!

This place is amazing! I'm at the very start of my journey with Ashtanga and having been attending this centre for a month. From the very moment I first entered the building Ilaria and Matt made me feel so welcome and at home. I find there's a great mix of classes to support the development of my practice, meeting me where I'm at while also providing space for me to explore further. I've worked mainly with Ilaria and I feel she invests her energy to support me and tailors positions to my level, while also just being so lovely and interesting. The building is beautiful and there are also showers, which are handy if I go straight to work after class. Thanks team :)

The following was an email I sent a short while ago to the owners. What I didn’t add was what a great space they have. I live in Alice Springs but attend classes regularly when visiting Melbourne. They’ve got it right with true focus on every aspect of yoga practice. I’ve attended several Shalas in Australia, USA and Bali and this place is just so special. All the instructors and the dedicated students are also a beautiful reflection of this Shala.Greg, Tracey,Just wanted to express my gratitude for being so graciously accepted at the Shala. It has played a significant role in my very adolescent journey. The advice and adjustments in the Mysore sessions have provided inspiration in my practice to take back to Alice Springs when I’ve not had a teacher to work with. I came for a week while I visited Melbourne and was able to continue my practice via Mysore Ashtanga classes. Ilaria was a wonderful teacher that deepened my practice.

My favorite studio to practice in Melbourne because of the experienced teachers and their warm nature. It is a welcoming space and one of the more traditional yoga studios. I highly recommend coming here if you want to deepen your practice and learn about all aspects of yoga under the guidance of great teachers.

One of the most gorgeous Yoga studios I've ever been to. 2 beautiful studios with high ceilings and huge windows. Just makes it light and airy and good for clearing my mind.Always smells like Chai Tea inside too. MMMMMM.Such great instructors, but you better forget everything you thought you knew about Yoga.It's a hard place, this isn't your super relaxing nap-time Yoga studio. But for some serious Yoga and pushing your limits, you can do it here. FIND YOUR ZEN.

I have been coming back between breaks in practice again and again to this centre over 10 years, and the beautiful, welcoming space with knowledgeable and gentle teachers is a constant. The online option is fantastic, particularly when managing health and a tight work schedule.

The atmosphere, philosophy and teaching technique of this place is what yoga is all about . This place is amazing the teachers are so knowledgeable and deepen your practice with their contribution. Every session I have attended , I learnt something new about my body . The minor details that I adapted to while doing asanas , had incredible effect on my postures . It’s like practicing yoga in the nature.
