Came across this shop was walking in Burwood. They have a lot of Asian pastries a lot of unique flavours also some authentic options. I got the vanilla sponge cake which I thought it was Japanese cheesecake at the beginning, but it’s fluffy and soft so I liked it. Also got some cookies also pineapple buns

Good selection but the star is the durian bun! They assemble these when you order. They get a pineapple bun, slice it in the middle, then place two slabs of what tastes like mild durian ice cream in the middle. So you end up with a fancy ice cream sandwich!

Their buns are not bad. Tried their egg tarts and were disappointed as they were actually custard. We were there during Friday evenings and saw some breads on offer outside the shop. They were ringing the bells to attract customers. Unfortunately we're told no photos allowed inside the shop.

We always get bread here when we're in the hood. They sell discounted bread in the evenings where a lady comes out & rings her bell to get customers. V cute. Bread is soft, yummy & well priced

A traditional Cantonese bakery with all the classics - stocked with pineapple buns, bbq pork puffs, cocktail buns and the quintessential fresh fruit cream birthday cakes which are a hallmark of every Asian kid’s childhood. The buns were nice and fresh with good quality and generous fillings. I would choose Maria’s over all those chain Asian bakeries with baked goods that taste like nothing. They clearly take pride in what they do and it tastes like it.

Bought a couple of their savoury and sweet buns, the fillings for all the savoury buns tasted off. Also tried their cream roll and felt sick after eating it. Had to throw out most of what I bought. They were bought and eaten on the same day too.

Tried their famous egg tarts $3.9 for two. The cookie base was crumbly and a tad bit sweet to my liking whereas the egg filling was smooth and tasted like pudding. The owner seemed nice and friendly. What caught my eyes were the traditional looking birthday cakes behind the glass door - reminded me of my childhood.

I purchased a Chestnut cake from this shop last week. Unfortunately, the cake had gone stale and had a sour taste. The fillings were brown and did not have the taste that a chestnut cake should have. Additionally, the fillings did not appear to be made of chestnuts. As a result of this experience, I would not purchase from this shop again.

The most authentic Hong Kong buns, fluffy soft buns and great price! All they make the best egg tarts in Sydney, unlike other bakeries it tastes very milky, these ones are like the ones in HK!The well know cha chaan tengs in Sydney use their pineapple buns!

The go to place to satisfy that nostalgia with Hong Kong style buns and cakes.I ordered a fresh fruit cake for my son birthday and it was sold by weight per lb (yup they use emperial measurements, just like Hk). I like how the cake is not overly sweet to my family’s palate.I will add photos when I have the chance.
