Called and booked him in to hook up solar panel to our second car battery. At the last minute he cancelled the job, leaving us without enough time to book in someone else before we headed off travelling.

Like others have said, if he doesn't feel like doing the job, he won't reply back to you. I really needed his help, and contacted him early evening, (which I don't deny), he instantly replied back & messages went back and forth freely, but once he got a clearer picture of my predicament, he stopped communication. He wouldn't even tell me the name of the part that I needed to get. If you want someone who might reply back to you, and might do the job, this is the man for you. (This is a truthful review based on my experience with this business). I'm guessing that he will respond to everyones enquiries now, which is good, that's the whole purpose of public reviews.

I write this review on behalf of my own company NQ Ally Works located in Cairns as the own/operator of the business and therefore can relate to the position that Rob is in not just as a business owner but operator also.I first commenced dealings with Rob back in 2015 when I commenced employment with a very large local tray and canopy fabrication company who contracted Rob to carry out ongoing 12/24V electrical canopy fit-outs and tray taillight wiring. Through my dealings with Rob during my time with this company I found him to very professional, punctual and an expert in his field. Rob was always understanding about unforeseen last minute requirements which he would rearrange his schedule if possible to accommodate. On the odd occasion this may not have been possible which was fair and reasonable however Rob would always go above and beyond to squeeze in that extra work into the work day if he could or arrange the next available suitable time to keep production, fitting and dispatch of orders nationally and internationally on time. As a result of the admiration, skill and professionalism Rob displayed throughout our dealings at this company I continued to use Rob for the same and additional services once I left that company to start my own business. From the beginning of my business venture it was always a goal to develop a local and national business reputation of professionalism and quality. Being that I am no expert in the 12/24V scene I knew that I would need to outsource this type of work to someone that was at the top of their game and could provide a high quality, fair priced and efficient service. The choice was simple Rob's Mobile Auto Electrics. Now some may say that due to my previous dealings with Rob and the strong professional business friendship we have developed my choice to continue using him is bias however. I have always operated my business in good relations with other local businesses in the same market who I openly support, recommend and help out if needed and this has always been reciprocated back. Through dealings with these other businesses I have come to hear of the unprofessional, costly and poor quality works that other local 12V auto electricians have provided as their idea of an acceptable standard, leaving the finished product quality, business reputation and customer experience tainted. On numerous occasions I have recommended Rob to help out and redo inadequate works carried out by others and I do this with the confidence knowing that Rob will right wrongs and leave a product well above standard. Rob is very approachable, will listen to your requirements and offer his many years of experience as advice if he see's something that may need doing in a different way. Now before writing this review I have read through the other reviews that people have left as I'm sure everyone else did and I can say this. With a small but efficient operation like Rob's you can only fit so much into a work day, he is only 1 man. When you are in need of someone's professional service if they are good (which is what you want) you will have to be proactive and book them in advance as everyone wants the best job done and like Rob they are always busy. Find someone that can fit you in at short notice and it may be a gamble... there is generally a reason they aren't busy. Now on a side note besides the many hats that Rob wears as a business owner, operator, teacher, and skilled tradesman he like many others also wear hats labelled husband, family man and dad with a life outside of work, I am in the same boat so can definitely relate. Outside of work hours is family time, a time to spend with your loved ones who you have worked hard for that day to support, a time to recharge your batteries, a time to live a life you work to support. People leaving bad reviews because they didn't make contact with him during normal working hours about work related stuff then try to bring his business into disrepute is poor form on their part. Some people have no idea and only other business owners / operators can fully relate.

I drive all over NQ, from Weipa, Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands, to Charters Towers as part of my veterinary business. I need a complex auto electrical fit out to operate an X-Ray machine (high electrical demand) and to keep my drugs cold as well as operate battery chargers, ultrasound machines, microscopes etc etc. I had struggled for years to do these things but a few hours on a hot afternoon in the canopy and Rob had it sorted. I have had no complaints - still working well 12 months later, so well, the other veterinarians in my business have had Rob wire their vehicles too!

Great Mobile Electrician who was able to fix my problem first time. Easy to deal with and didn't have to be without my car for long. :)

Our company D'Urso Air Conditioning & Electrical engaged Rob's Mobile Auto Electrics to supply and install worklights and canopy lights in our work trailer. Rob was extremely helpful as we use the trailer during the week we dropped it off Friday afternoon and it was ready for work again for first thing Monday morning. With Rob's experience and knowledge we discussed our options and opted to install a 1000W inverter and second battery. This enables us to work off grid with ease. The custom made panel looks neat and professional and the lights make those sale morning starts a breeze.
