Otford Railway Tunnel
Nice short walk. A bit freaky. Must park down the road & walk in. Didn't go inside as looked scary like people may be in there or living there!

Otford Railway Tunnel
One of the more underrated abandoned tunnels in the area. Compared to the Helensburgh tunnel, the ground is much more dry and traversable. The entire length of the tunnel can be walked through, end to end taking about 30 minutes. Intersting finds throughout the tunnel such as a bathtub, some old rusted machinery, metal sheets, and lots of graffiti. The Otford end of the tunnel, emerges into a clearing, on one side are the backyards of houses and the other side is the railway line.

You need to park at the end of the road then walk up a fire trail to find the tunnelentrance .Nice walk on a hot day very cool inside ,very uneven walkway , bring a torch. It takes about half an hour to walk. Some cool graffiti pics in tunnel .C pics .

If you're planning to walk the abandoned tunnel, I'd suggest you have a torch, comfy shoes or a fully charged phone. One way took about 40mins (uneven surface, debris and water) but on the way back took approx 25-30 mins.Don't wear nice shoes. At the end of the tunnel is residential which runs parallel to current train line.

Excellent visit, don't forget to bring a torch (with some spare batteries, just in case). It's an easy walk uphill from this end, just watch your step inside. The northern portal comes out into a clearance but I'm not sure it actually leads anywhere (aside from behind some private property & the railway corridor). There's some abandoned machinery from presumably from the old mushroom farm. Some cool graffiti inside the tunnel, along with the boring 'tags'. Some of the puddles inside it hide some crayfish... For some reason.

Great place, tunnel has been abandoned for some time. The tunnel is going to be turned into a cycle way so make sure you go there before it does! There is a bathtub in the middle of the tunnel under the smoke exhaust wich fills up when it rains. It adds to the unusual feel.

A very interesting piece of railway history from the late 1800's to explore or photograph. Its possible to walk the 1.5km tunnel. But torch, good shoes definitely recommended

Really interesting spot! I would not recommend exploring the tunnel unless you have proper flashlights and a decent sized group of people though. What struck me most was how utterly silent the inside of the tunnel is. Could hear a pin drop in there!

Good old abandoned tunnel to walk through. Very scary indeed. It is in the crossroads of L.H Drive and bald hill lookout.
