The food slaps, the music is always really chill, the staff are super polite and the menu is very accommodating for people with coeliacs. I've been here over 20 times and I've only had a couple of cross-contamination issues because I went there on super busy weekends and the reactions to gluten were still very minor. It's my favourite place in town and I recommend it to everyone I know.

Ordered a coffee and sourdough toast as takeaway, coffee was good but the sourdough toast (2 slices for $13 ) was over toasted and dry. Remember specifically asking for a very lightly toasted bread and another lady behind the counter relayed the request to the person in the kitchen that clearly wasn’t received. One would expect a decent slice of bread for $13 instead what I received was a thin brown and dry slice of misery.

Couldn't fault our visit to Brass Monkey, the staff were attentive and friendly, the coffee (we all had 3) and food was great, we stayed a long time and never once felt like we needed to leave even though all the tables seemed to be full. Brilliant.

Pork belly salad and iced almond latte were top notch. Great service, lovely decor and baby friendly.Edit: Ramen is incredible! Pork chop was succulent with a lightly crisped fat and pulled apart easily with chopsticks.

Good coffee, good food. The ramen is amazing! It spoke to my soul! Especially coming from Melbourne, and needed something to remind me of home! Would definitely be back next time I’m here!

Such a special place. The food here is just fantastic. So fresh, beautifully presented, interesting, and perfect flavours. Amazing healthy options too. They know exactly what they’re doing here. I have lived in Melbourne for over twenty five years and have eaten at countless excellent cafes over that time, but I can honestly say the food I have eaten here surpasses most I have had at those hip, inner city cafes. Also, the service is great - warm, unpretentious, generous. I dream of returning between visits.

This place has good coffee. Last weekend when I ordered a coffee and muffin to take away the server took my muffin and disappeared out the back.. upon receiving my muffin the outside was warm and the inside was frozen solid.. if you are charging $7.50 for a muffin at least make sure they are defrosted before serving..
