Horrible. The photo says it all. The photo is of their ‘potato cakes’. Inedible. The batter on the fish was chewy, spongy and ruined the piece of fish. The chips looked like they were going to be crispy and tasty but unfortunately they were soggy.

Not quite sure what we just ate. Terrible. Calamari rings were straight out of a box like fish fingers. Terrible. Fish was ok, just not sure about cinnamon on it.Chips were ok.

Absolutely awful. Flake was so tough I could barely pull it apart with my hands - INEDIBLE - and unbelievable for $11!!! Chips were soggy by the time we arrived home. Calamari was processed. Do yourself a favour… go elsewhere.

Good place, visited earlier this afternoon for the first time to get some fish and chips. Price was reasonable, taste good, glad to have a chat with Anthony. Very friendly guy, loves chatting to customers, friendly attitude. Overall I’m satisfied. Have been seeing the sign for the last couple of years, didn’t get chance to visit. Bought fish and chips with chicken nuggets- my children loved them. Will definitely go back again soon. All the best Anthony :)

Behind the counter especially the floor needed a good cleaning and when i walked in, the owner i presume was being very rude to the nice Asian lady that was serving.If was me being spoken to that way i would have told the owner to go f--- themselves and left.He apparently gets pleasure in belittling people and especially in front of customers.I'm sure with this ladies experience she should have no trouble finding suitable employment without being belittled. It's called workplace bullying.

25th October 2022Paid $65 for 4 pieces of Snapper, Medium serve of chips, 1 x crab stick and 3 x pineapple fritters.The batter was raw on the inside and the fish was not fresh.Chips was stale and also the bad taste could be associated from old oil.Crab stick was undercooked.The only good thing was the pineapple fritters.Made a phone call to advise the older gentlemen, he did apologise and then Hung up the phone.I suggest going elsewhere.

If you are a connoisseur of old style fish and chip shops with a late 70s early 80s decor, then Alawa Fish & Chips is your kind of place. I had the fish which was snapper and chips. It was fine, but the batter was not fully cooked through. It needed a couple of more minutes in the deep fryer. Price was cheap for Darwin however. Good for the budget conscious. Will try again.

Very tasty barra and a huuuuge portion of fries. The spices in the butter give the fish an interesting touch. I especially liked the pineapple fritter and the friendly service.
