We really liked the gardens and atmosphere of what the organisers were trying to present on the day with the jazz band. But only the people that were very close to the band could hear it. I would say 75% of the audience could only hear a muffled version of the music. It had the makings of a great day If the band had speakers where everyone could enjoy the music and hear the speeches it would have been amazing.

Beautiful old historical farm house and gardens. Vince is the very friendly and knowledgeable caretaker. Great for taking a break to and from Perth to see a bit of history.

Old Blythewood, set amidst beautiful gardens, is an 1860s property overlooking the flats of the Murray River. The complex features the main house and a separate building containing a kitchen, scullery and creamery. Built as a family home and hotel, the homestead interior displays antique furniture and items gathered from the district.

It was closed, and it opened at 1230, so we didn't go in. I would have liked it, I think. We were not aware of the times until we pulled up and saw the sign at the gate.

We arrived mostly by chance at exactly 12.30pm on Saturday, which was when a tour should start. Found out we were the only starters, so got an in depth private" tour of the property and garden from the Caretaker/Guide.Even though my friend had lived within 10 minutes of Old Blythewood for more than a dozen years it was her 1st visit and she found out lots of things about the local area that she didn't know.Well worth the modest fee

Arrived at 12:30 on a Sunday to be greeted jovially by Vince the guide/property manager. We were the only ones there and so Vince took us through everything on a one-to-one basis and such personal service! He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the old homestead the National Trust should be paying him double!Would recommend a visit to anyone who loves local history.
