Accoutrement

I love accoutrement, they have so much beautiful kitchen equipment. I always want to buy something and usually do.Since moving into the area a year ago, I have frequented the store. I love to cook and also love to support my local community.I just find it so disappointing that, every time I have been into the store in the last year, I am never greeted by the staff, no matter how long I linger in the store. I find when I need help, I always have to approach a staff member. While they are knowledgeable and helpful overall, I have been put off shopping here.Today I went in and found a pillivuyt plate that I was going to buy eight of for my dinner party I am having tomorrow. I was also looking for a pie dish.I was wandering around the shop for at least 20 minutes looking for a pie dish, after spending around 10 minutes Looking at plates. In all that time the two staff members behind the counter did not engage me once.Eventually, after not getting help, I waited at the counter while two staff members looked after one lady. Not once did they engage me to say I won’t be long, hello, anything.As I was almost out of the store a gentleman called after me to find out if I needed help. To which I responded that every time I am in the store, I am never asked if I am in need of help. The gentleman then replied with ‘ I just did ask you and we are busy. If busy is two staff members looking after one customer, I honestly wonder how accoutrement survives.I decided that I would go elsewhere to buy my plates and pie dish. Which would have been over 500 dollars worth of goods. I am not sure of a retail shop that can afford to let someone walk out their door who was wanting to buy that amount of goods.I just wanted the owner of the store to know. If I owned a retail store, I would definitely want to know how the staff I trust to run my store behave when I am not there.I also want the owner to know, that I feel so strongly about this matter, I left this review. The first review I have ever done. Usually I wouldn’t worry. I hope, you appreciate my feedback.Kindest regards

Amazing selection of cookware, gourmet food and honewares

Great little store in Mosman, Sydney.Lots of handy cooking utensils etc .Recommended to visit, this place is well serviced for cafes so you can enjoy a coffee after your visit.

Great guys. Unfortunately didn’t have the (very niche) thing I was after but they directed me how to either order or make it myself. Super helpful.

Unfortunate experience of very rude staff- even though we’ve been going there for a long time they’re continually arrogant-And the Christmas fruit cake was very poor : dry, crumbly, not nearly good enough

Quality store, this has been a staple business of Mosman forever. I love this shop, but please please please please get more Sydney Harbour Trust honey. I am out :(

Had a lovely encounter with a lady called Faye on the phone today. I was searching for a spare part for an old thermos, and though they had none in stock, Faye said she'd get back to me with my inquiry after she'd properly searched the catalog. Though I managed to find another stockist, Faye called me back soon after and let me know it could be ordered in at a decent price. Greatly appreciate the customer service and extensive range of wares.

Great products but so unfriendly staff. Been there for ages but it’s hard to get a smile or a thank you from them. Unfortunately the only place in mosman to buy nice chocolate.Perhaps they know it and that’s the reason for their arrogance.

The team at Accoutrement were amazing - particularly with their product knowledge. They were able to expertly advise how to rectify a black solid marble cheese board that accidently made its way into the dishwasher and lost its coating in the process.
