Knox Automatic Transmissions

Was referred by Clint at EFI motors in Dandenong to this business for my 2013 FPV GT-P was having some over revving and clunky gear change issues. Was told to take the car down straight away and they’d run a diagnostics test on it and tell me what was wrong. I pull up, enter the office as the signs say, QR code check in and wait for 2-3mins. The younger of the 2 men working strolls in, sits back on the back wall and says, what’s wrong with the car? I said I’m hoping you can tell me that and he cuts me off and says “we’ll im not gonna do it now- what’s the car doing?” I said Clint sent me down and said you’d run a diagnostic test and tell me what’s wrong… he then says “I'm not gonna do it now you’ll have to leave it with me”. I walked out and said don’t worry about it I’ll go somewhere else. I rang Clint and told him what happened, he called them and he rang back and said to ring them and make an appointment to go back- I said forget it I’m not giving them any of my money.Perhaps a communication issue with Clint and this clown but a little better body language and friendly manner wouldn’t go astray, especially if i’m a potential new customer. Obviously they have enough work to last and new customers aren’t an issue for them.

So I had issues with my vehicle over the Christmas new year holidays and understandably everywhere is shut during this time. I call up and I think it was Mike who answered (sorry hopeless when it comes to names) and I can hear his kid in the background and he’s clearly on holidays. I told him I had issues with my vehicle but it sounded like he was busy and he was on holidays wso I was happy to call back another time. Mike assured me it was fine to tell him my problems over the phone and he helped with the issues I was having. He told me to call back a few days later as no one was working until then. I called back and they told me to bring it in straight away and they will check it out for me. I took it down and a few hours later get a call saying it’s all good to pick up. I found them to be extremely nice and very helpful! I Could not recommend this place any higher! Thanks legends! Will definitely recommend you guys to my mates when they are having issues.

Michael is a stand up guy and I can't thank him enough for helping me out. My local mechanic referred me to Michael after I had some transmission problems. Called Michael and he checked my car out for free once I got it there with roadside assist. From there Michael gave me the diagnosis which wasn't good and I wasn't able to drive the car. He let me keep my car at his shop for a few days until I figured out what to do with it. I was annoying and called Michael a few times in those days with some questions and he had no problems answering them and gave me so much valuable advice and even pumped my tyres up! You're a legend Michael (and team!) and I can't thank you enough for the help!If I ever hear anyone needing a transmission specialist I will 100% send them straight to you legends.Some donuts coming your way... I was still unhappy with the quality of the gear shifts on my 2012 Subaru Liberty after another automatic transmission specialist had serviced it and after a Subaru dealer had attempted to improve shift quality by updating the software in the transmission’s computer. I am qualified as both an automotive engineer and an aeronautical engineer so I want my car to be 100% right. I heard about Mike and the team at Knox Automatic Transmissions through word of mouth. From the outset Mike was professional and helpful. He explained a couple of items he could check and was flexible with the time I could drop the car off. The work was carried out in less than a day. No oily hand marks were left on my car. There was a significant improvement in the shift quality of my car and the bill was very reasonable. Took my car to Ferntregully Holden because the car would not go into drive.They had the car for 1 month , stuffed me around and told me the transmission needs replacing and the total cost of a second hand transmission is $ 7000. I was refered to take my car to Knox Transmission and speak to Michael. Michael diagnosed the fault was in the transmission computer and the cost of repair $1990. Michael repaired my car and is now driving like a new car.I highly recommend Knox Transmission.Michael is honest and has excellent customer service.

Micheal and his team were amazing! They fitted us in on short notice, diagnosed and fixed the problem super quick and we’re exceptionally well priced, I would 100% recommend them for all your auto problems!

Took my car in for an Transmission service as it hasn't been serviced in a long time. Michael took great care of me and showed to be very knowledgeable and honest.He took the time and explained everything slowly to me about what takes place in a transmission service.He was also very reasonably priced compared to many other quotes I got.I highly recommend these guys if your looking for quality and honest work.Couldn't be more satisfied with the work done by Knox Automatic Transmissions!

I chose Knox Auto Transmissions because of their reviews and couldn't be happier with the result of our exchange. As a first customer I was greeted by Michael over the phone who was very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, he was unable to book me in and diagnose my issue that week, but did use his expertise and judgement to tell me over the phone that it was most likely a simple fix and recommended I call the following week book myself in as they were flat out (completely understandable). Next week came around, I called back and sure enough Michael told me to bring the car in and leave with them to inspect which is exactly what I did. Got a call back a few hours later saying that the issue was resolved and the simple fix that was suggested on our first phone call was actually was solved my worrying gearbox problem! A repair that was so simple that Michael didn't even charge me for his time to fix it! An extremely generous gesture that took a huge weight off my shoulders for an issue that I thought was going to cost me thousands. Thanks again Michael, I hope I don't run into anymore gearbox problems but I know where to go if I ever do.
