A great Indian restaurant with amazing menu. All the food we tried were all delicious and yummy in tummy. Chicken tikka, butter chicken, beef vindaloo to note a few among the vast menu. All freshly made and I must say the chef knows his business when it comes to Indian dishes. The Nans especially the butter and cheese ones are so yummy and will melt in your tummy. They have many other varieties of Indian breast and rice as well.They have a great collection of wines, beer and hard liquor. And have coffee bar indoors.The choice of desserts are limited but are delicious. Gulan jamun with ice cream, the different verities kulfies, carrot halwa to name a few.A great place for couples, family and bachelors. The staff is very friendly and make you feel home. The ambience is good with instrumental bolly wood classics playing in the background.10kms off Melbourne CBD in Balwyn North, is worth a drive to enjoy the delicacy.5 stars for the food and hospitality. We had the Groupon deal. For starter we had Andhra chicken. Mains was Palak Paneer and Lamb Madras ended with house made Pista kulfi. Food was delicious. Gravies not greasy at all. Lamb was nicely cooked in good southern style coconut gravy. Friendly n pleasant staff.Definitely recommended

Unfortunately, I can't give Chimes a great review. When I lived in the area a few years ago, I used to get food from Chimes all the time and it was delicious! The last few times were disappointments, as was my experience today.I ordered two portions of the lamb cutlets via Ubereats. The Ubereats menu says that each portion has 4 cutlets. When my order arrived it only had 3 cutlets in each portion. When I called to complain, I was told that they had informed Ubereats that each portion now comes with only 3 cutlets however the Ubereats menu was not updated. This is irrelevant to the customer. If the Ubereats menu says each portion comes with 4 lamb cutlets, it should come with 4 lamb cutlets.To add salt to injury, all the cutlets were dry and had no flavour. It was such a shame as the cutlets used to be my favourite thing on the menu. I struggled to finish the dish. It did not taste good at all.

It was all a bit nondescript. In terms of entrees the chicken tikka was sizeable and tender (tick) but not overly flavourful and the Amritsari fish was over cooked.For main I had butter chicken and the sauce lacked the thickness you usually encounter and wasn’t as creamy as I often experience and prefer. The garlic naan visually looked as though it would be really garlicky but didn’t taste particularly so. Overall I found the experience underwhelming thought other diners enjoyed their vegetarian dishes

Chimes" was booked in it's entirety for a family function of around 50 adults and children.The staff were friendly and courteous throughout the process of setting up of electronic equipment for the function and throughout the function itself

Great Indian restaurant. Have been getting food for many years and absolutely love it. With so many choices to pick from, the Butter Chicken is still my favorite. Have dined in many times and find the atmosphere very relaxing. If it's a cold wintery day, I get it delivered. Always fresh and so tasty makes you want more. I also can't go past without getting some roti bread as delicious to have with my food.

The restaurant is quite spacious, got plenty of sitting space. Must say the service stood out, really nice host. The food is quite decent as well. Would love to visit again.
