Don't waste your time going to this place. The volunteer lawyers there are inexperienced, won't look at your case thoroghly and will only give advices not to fight and assert your rights so that the other side will win. I will never go to these inexperienced volunteer lawyers again for advices as they don't know what they are doing and will make you lose your case.

Kingsford Legal Centre is a place where you can get legal advice for free. The system works so that the practicing students/lawyers take information on your particular query, and then they work with a full qualified lawyer to give you a response and course of action. I had a smaller legal question and did not have money to book a fully qualified lawyer. They were able to answer all my questions, and provide me with an excellent course of action to follow. I would recommend these guys to anyone who needs legal advice! Excellent system!

They told me that I would get a call on a matter I was dealing with in court.I sat waiting a week for them to call and then they cancelled on the day with an excuse that I didn't fit the requirement even though they said it was ok a week earlier. I'd question the quality you would get with this place. It has cost me important time

MISS CONDUCTHave been waiting for weeks, then I got to see solicitor Matthew who was the first to hear about my case, he was in fact very helpful and helped me to write a formal email to my ex employer and said they could help me further depending on the employers replied. Then two weeks later I came back to talk to another solicitor as they say they are all volunteers so I couldn’t keep seeing the same solicitor so this time I have spoken to solicitor Arturo who during the whole meeting was trying to get rid of me, even though I had all evidences on my side, evidences on writing, audio, everything!. Then he said he would try to get some lawyer at Kingsford Legal Center to take my case and I should wait someone from the center to contact me. I tried to call themAs they never contacted me back however they NEVER say anything. Then one week later solicitor Fiona Duane contacted me on March Thursday 19 at 6:44pm with an excuse they wouldn’t be able to help me with my case because they have choose rich ones they can take to help regardless of rights strong evidences. Then I said I wanted a plausible answer, a true answer. She said again because they do not have to help everyone that comes for help and kept on saying they are volunteers. I said I know very well how the system works, I also know you are paid through the government to provide legal services to the community. I asked if it was about money and she then went all quiet over the phone.Well, people are not stupid, I wonder what sort of “volunteers solicitors” the community is actually getting. If you are truly volunteering for something either you do it or do not do it but keeping giving such as excuses it’s just dirty. What sort of layers are out there proving “the best” service they can?! A Lawyer should fight for human rights, should fight for justice! It looks to you these people have lost they way. Shame on you! I truly hope the new UNSW Lawyers will not end up like you! Stay away from this place don’t waste your energy and time time! It’s better you to stand up alone and fight for your Rights!

I found the nameless woman I had the misfortune to have to deal with over the phone totally unhelpful and I ended up abandoning my call out of sheer frustration. My expectations were dashed in the first couple of minutes by her manner which was totally impersonal and resembled an interrogation rather than the normal sort of interaction that should have been extended. She emphasised that they didn't want to waste their time" and she suggested (albeit patronizingly) that she would "guide me." She kept repeating herself as if she was dealing with someone with a comprehension and/or hearing problem and given her attitude

Kingsford lawyers have been a beacon of hope to me at a time when my options appeared limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed near impossible”Victor, Krissy, Jayde, the “family” of Kingsford lawyers were not only able to successfully defend me out of bankruptcy, their calm empathetic demeanour offered me emotional support when I needed it at the most. They went back to basics and asked me questions I’d never been asked before, they drew out the facts with the upmost of intellect and precision - they pulled it apart like an absolute symphony. My only regret is not appointing them sooner.Thank you for helping me rebuild my life - you’re in a league of your own Kingsford Lawyers.

Everything Susan Furlong described with additions. I understand many of the lawyers here are working on a volunteer basis (and that the KLC does have high demand and limited resources at their disposal) but I felt palmed off by the receptionist and the Principal at the Centre. I'm a low income earner (below $20000 a year) and desperately require legal advice from them (note: not advocacy or court based representation). Luckily I was able to book an appointment for advice in obtaining Pro Bono assistance through the Law Society some months ago, unfortunately the assigned lawyer has not been in contact with me since April and now I'm worried about my case and wanted general advice regarding Supreme Court proceedings now that I have submitted an Affidavit. They refused to book me into an appointment and told me that community outreach services can help me with the matter even though they have no legal knowledge (not knowing anything in regards to legal process). They said as far as they're concerned I have a lawyer for the matter and any advice should be through him. An outreach worker was with me during the phone call and was in disbelief. I feel extremely let down by the KLC and vulnerable now as I have no idea what I should do in regards to this lawyer or legal matter. I feel that I have slipped through the cracks between the KLC, Law Society and this Pro Bono Lawyer. Poor form.
