Amazing views and history. I recommend taking the bus out the Fort and walking back.

i have been here few times and it never disappoint me each time. The view is always beautiful and breath taking. What makes it so good is that it not very far from Melbourne. Normally you have to drive 2 or 3 hours to get a similar view. Good walking track for all ages. They have a free public shuttle service here for those who are unable to walk. It will take you from the car park straight to Fort Nepean.

Such an awesome walk, best done in the earlier hours of the day & pack lightly as there are a few hills.

A spectacular perspective about the Engine House's history and well worth exploring the entirety of it.

Awesome place for everyone. There is a bus service ($12 / Adult, Kids no charges) if you don’t want to walk or if you have kids. It’s 2.8km bus ride / walk to the fort. Private vehicles are not allowed.Read the history of this place to make an interesting and meaningful trip.Cheers.

This house can be accessed from both the fort (via the tunnels) or from the path that descends from the hill, which provides an excellent view to the Port Phillip Bay. There are not many historical items inside the house for the tourists, and it is quite dark on the first floor even it is in daytime. However, there are some seats at that floor.

A great way to spend a half day exploring! The rugged landscape is amazing, and it's great to be able to crawl through the disused fort. The fact that the shuttle bus is $12 per adult is absolutely insane, so I'd pack some good walking shoes. The engine house is probably the coolest part of the old fort. Right on the tip of the peninsula, the views are incredible!
