As my Mum is getting discharged today, we asked what approximate estimate we could expect her to be out today since we have a long two hour drive ahead. Got lectured by the nurse in 4C about how 'they are doing our best, and we should be patient and let them work'. It was the first time we had gone up to the desk and asked and it's getting quite late in the afternoon. It came off really passive aggressive and upset my mum greatly. A little more tact and understanding towards patients who have spent over a month in hospital with multiple surgeries would be greatly appreciated

I have been several hours in the waiting rooms of your hospital while my friend has been having scans and therapy. Today I am in medical imaging and listening to “Tammy” dealing with all sorts of issues. I am amazed at her compassion and genuine caring nature. Top marks Tammy

I was admitted for bowel surgery on 20/04/2023. I was fully aware (reinforced by all doctors) that a major concern was chest infection, pneumonia. 4 hours after surgery (1am) I was woken by staff squeezing another patient, with a nasty cough into the same room (lovely girl). After confirmation I had a chest infection and a 3rd new patient was to share the single room I had to make a conscious decision for my own health and others. I Left.

My son (42 )went in for operation today. 9am into theatre 40min to fine a vain operation about 4 hours but I never got called . My son called me about 8.30pm this evening to let me know he is still in recovery as no bed in a ward. My problem is it was a scheduled operation and major so why no bed. Ridiculous and why couldn't they do his op closer to home like SCGH . Not happy. Communication is the key obviously they lack this.

Really long wait but know that’s no one’s fault….staff were rushed off their feet and Emergency was heaving on a Tue evening. Apart from the wait, the staff were friendly and attentive….had a chuckle with me to help me pass the time. Joshna and Jess were SO lovely, really made that extra effort to make me feel comfortable and were lighthearted about my embarrassing procedure. Thanks ladies, was really appreciated!☺️

Don’t even get me started. Government doing a great job in ensuring our facilities are capable enough to withstand the constant need of medical attention. Genuinely feel sorry for all the staff who have to up with patients who have a dip at them for the extremely extremely EXTREMELY slow services. Not the doctors, nurses or receptionists faults at all. Embarrassing and sad is an understatement of what our hospitals are at this point in time. Could be on your death bed in this place and still be waiting another 6 hours before getting seen to. Great stuff Perth.

Took my husband to the ER on a Saturday night 7:50pm after he had an accident at the gym. He had chest pain, vertigo bruising, cuts and some trouble breathing. Was seen by a nurse quickly to give details, take blood pressure etc, but then had to wait 4 hrs to see a doctor. Yes the wait was long, but the nurse did say it would be as it wasn't life threatening. When it was our time the doctor it was great. Very thorough asked a lot of questions, check vitals, check lungs, check bones etc, constantly asked about pain and what hurts etc. Doctor was very kind and patient. Nothing broken, but they still went ahead and got him xrays. Everything was fine, just bruised chest and gave pain relief. Was a long wait got out at about 2am but was glad he was checked for peace of mind. Just know if its not broken, bleeding or on the verge of needing resuscitation you'll be waiting a while.

Karen, the reception staff was fantastic. I needed a specific wheelchair for a family member to visit a patient within FSH, and Karen made sure one was brought to us with someone to operate the chair to and from our destination within the hospital. Thanks so much for your help, Karen. The charge in the chair held long enough for the visit.
