They claim to be the most trusted builders. I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them. We found them to be extremely unreliable & unprofessional. They went back on their word to us multiple times, even after showing written proof of things, they simply ignored it. Prolonged build, that they claim is due to ‘covid’ which yes there were national building delays however, their pure lack of organisation appeared to play a major role in our build delays. No apology was ever provided for mistakes made along the way. We had to be constantly on top of things & reminding them things were not done & were not done correctly. The cherry on top was them deeming the property practically completed bar the irrigation which we were promised was booked in to be completed. Final payment was made & alas no irrigation & a very big stuff around. Since moving in to the property there have been multiple issues, little ones that they did come and rectify after chasing them up multiple times. However bigger issues, like appliances failing after one use, they refused to look at until it happens multiple times. From our experience they appear to be the type of people that put making money over having true thoughtful consideration and care for their customers. Would not recommend this builder to my worst enemy. The owner, office manager & new home sales manager were the three most dishonest and disappointing people that we have ever dealt with and it says a lot when they are the people setting the bar for their company. Great experience. Staff are all friendly and go above and beyond

Negotiation with our sales man was excellent with plan and design provided to meet our requirements. Initially promised an 8 month build, this became an 11 month build which blew out an additional 6 months. Hand over was certainly not the “bow on the front door” moment as shown on social media. It felt more like “here’s your keys, See you later”. Whilst we love our home and the finished product meets our expectations, the build was definitely soured by lack of communication and literally a book of excuses. Our supervisor was fabulous under difficult circumstances considering the builder simple took on more than they could manage. Perhaps GJ Gardner need to reconsider the current marketing phrase of “feel the joy” as it felt more like feel the pain.

We own a property beside a GJ Gardner building site in Townsville. The poor absentee owner has waited almost 12 months for a start on the job. In all our dealings with the site forman and local director we have been fobbed off, lied to and delayed.Their team have cut and smashed the dividing fence, damaged our front fence, damaged a council drain, left the wreckage of trees they cut all over our side yard, and despite being told not to come onto our property to access water and have smoko under our house.Now that it is pouring rain the builders have finally started earthworks to prepare for concrete - the slab will be stuffed before it is laid.If you are looking for a builder, look elsewhere. If you see a GJ Garndner sign go up next door, prepare for the worst.
