Had a problem with my car going into limp mode on the Tuesday night, and messaged Neil late that night to see if I could come by in the morning for him to have a look at it. Neil said to come on round and he’d have a look. Took it by Wednesday morning, and engine diagnostic was done on it, and fault codes read. It was then booked in to be fixed on Saturday morning. Got it back, and it’s running even better than before. He is noticed a fault with my reverse light and tried to fix it without being asked. Neil is an amazing mechanic, and definitely knows what he’s doing with VW’s. He will be my main mechanic from now, and cannot fault him.

Neil has a friendly and welcoming business. Extremely knowledgeable when it comes to many makes of cars. He has worked on my Mk6 Golf Gti several times with always very positive results.

Anyone with a Volkswagen Group vehicle, use this bloke. After being treated diabolically by Skoda Australia over a fault on Karen’s Yeti, Neil sorted it quickly, efficiently, effectively and for a reasonable price. He knows his Volkswagens backwards.For less than what Skoda were quoting to rectify the faulty timing chain on the TSI engine, which is a known fault and should’ve been done under warranty/recall, he sorted it in a bit over 24 hours. Also rectified a major leak in the twin clutch actuator on the DSG, caused in part by another idiot who serviced it and stripped out the plug, and used the wrong fluid.Also has a loaner Polo diesel, even though he takes little time to do the work.

I don’t know why they have good reviews. They couldn’t even give me a proper quote. I had to ring them three times to get my car in for repairs. Nothing. But their estimated quote was 1700 and apparently three different oil leaks. Took it to another mechanic since they never got back. Other mechanic said there is only one and it’s from top that leaks towards bottom. These guys I’m not sure of them. Be careful and do your research before giving your car for repairs.

Another 5 star review for Neil at Autobunkerz. Neil did the major service on my 2011 VW Passat 2.0TDI (Model B7 @ 207,000km) which included full timing kit and water pump replacement, DSG/gearbox service, coolant flush and replacement. Neil also fixed my Passat's ABS/ESP error/failure by cleaning up left and right rear wheel hubs and replacing left and right wheel speed sensors - errors completely gone! Additionally he cleaned my clogged up EGR valve and identified an important engine temperature problem and fixed it by replacing both of the engine cooling system thermostats. Problem gone! Plus he replaced my rear brake rotors and pads! Plus he did an extensive road test! I am now confident taking my 10+ year old VW on long interstate trips again. Neil provided me with helpful updates by text message and phonecalls and he was transparent, honest and very thorough when diagnosing all the errors and problems with my VW. I will be back to Autobunkerz in the future and I highly recommend Neil to other VW owners.
