Don't go by the size of this musuem. This tiny Musuem is packed with historical information. You could get a feel that Berrima still miss the German interns who were settled here. Very informative volunteer staff. There is a small entry fee , but this place is well worth it as it is looked after well. There is a Video display of Berrima at the time of 1918-1919 , I guess that video would make a great nostalgia for older people of those times. Visit this place on your trip b/w Canberra and Sydney. Very small detour from the Hume Highway. Highly recommended this place.

Great place to visit at Berrima. The best way to learn about the town history is to start from a museum. This place is run by volunteers with a very small entry fee ($8).

We went there to go have a look and they told my 96 year old grandma on 30 degree day that she couldn’t go to the toilet here and to go somewhere else and then said if u pay to use the toilet we will let you. The woman had no heart. I recommend not going

A small museum that have some historical archives around the Berrima area and other old times homewares that are interesting, especially for younger visitors, overall, small but interesting objects are being displayed.

Outstanding display detailing the culture shock that the 300+ German internees created in the town of Berrima in 1915. They also have a display on modern day Southern Highland professionals called ‘A butcher, a baker and a bunch of makers.’

If you enjoy days out where everything is in walking distance and love history then this place is for you. Excellent cafe culture, plenty of culinary delights typical of the area, some Italian & French influences as well. Plenty homemade local foods. Boutiques, gifts, homewares & restaurants are world class.Easy distances to wineries and Golf courses if interested.Landscape is heavenly to your senses, the Southern Highlands has its own climate so summer is much cooler than Sydney.Berrima was bypassed by the rail some time ago and so it remains an entry point into time of long ago with many Georgian structures compared to neighbouring towns that thrived after the railway was installed ie Bowral, Moss Vale & Goulburn.Perfect outing if looking for a city escape.
