The staff are fine, but the pharmacist could be pleasanter and more helpful

I would have rated this chemist 0 stars, but that’s not an option.I gave them lots of business for a few years, only because they’re the only chemist in Cygnet, but I finally decided enough was enough. The older chemist is rude, judgemental and really doesn’t care about the customer. The other chemist is lovely, but he is there infrequently. The staff are fine, but I get the feeling the older chemist influences their attitude, as they can be terse and not very engaging.I now travel to Huonville or Kingston for my meds, even if it’s inconvenient, as I never want to feel like they made me feel ever again.Very unprofessional. Really shouldn’t deal with people whatsoever.

I have been a regular customer of this pharmacy for 9 years. I have always found them professional, courteous, and attentive of my needs. It's a serious business. If people want a friend, may I suggest they get a dog.

Pharmacist refused inhaler (which is over the counter medication) to woman having asthma attack... because she did not have a prescription & had not had a review from a doctor in last 12 months that he knew of. Cygnet Pharmacy pharmacist refused to sell an asthma inhaler to a local woman & regular customer who was suffering a frightening attack saying she hadn't bought one since 2016 & she needed a prescription to get it. I had rushed to the Pharmacy to buy the inhaler on her behalf because she was so unwell, but he did not care that she had run out of Salbutamol the previous evening, her breathing had recently gotten worse & she may have died in minutes due to being unable to breathe, He refused to acknowledge she was not reasonably able to drive to a doctor in order to get a review so she could then drive to the Pharmacy to get the life-saving medicine because she may have collapsed at the wheel killing others while dying a preventable death. The first aid for an asthma attack according to Asthma Australia is to administer a Salbutamol inhaler. He refused to accept that asthma is incurable, so someone who bought it in the past on prescription, will need it for the rest of their lives. He refused to accept that this is an over the counter medicine for which a prescription is not required. He kept saying extra controls had been implemented since Covid to ensure people were not using Salbutamol to treat Covid, but refused to accept that someone who needed an inhaler in 2016 well before Covid, for an incurable disease who was in danger of dying now, IS entitled to the medicine. Calling an ambulance in the Huon Valley is a minimum 1.5 hour wait (IF the ambulance can depart immediately) & I could have had the medicine to her in 10 minutes. Guess what? The FIRST THING an ambulance would have done is administered Salbutamol! Understandable to hesitate if not an emergency, but this Pharmacist refused to understand the difference & could well have caused her death. As you can see from all the other 1 star reviews, Cygnet Pharmacy should be avoided wherever possible, not only are they severely lacking in other areas of customer service, they are quite prepared to cause a customer's death with their misapplication of Government guidelines & one-eyed disregard of an emergency.

The price, of scripts. I recognise and fully support purchasing local but the costs of scripts are a rip off,On the 30/10/21 I purchased from Cygnet Pharmacy Sozol(Pantoprazole} 20mg a generic cost $13.00.On the 30/09/21 I purchased from a pharmacy chain in Hobart 20Mg Pantoprazole cost $5.60 non generic.Cygnet Pharmacy is part of a 500 member pharmacy alliance which gives it the same buying power as the large chains so to charge these prices is just out of control.I have been ripped here before but I wont make that mistake again.

The pharmacist is rude, rude, rude and intentionally unhelpful. I have had several disconcerting and humiliating experiences and will only use this establishment in an emergency.

Please don't go here if you have a mask exemption. The drug dealer (pharmacist) abused me when I tried to read him the Privacy Act and how he could face 5 years imprisonment and a $63,000 fine for asking about private medical information. Not informed at all with NO interest in knowing the LAW. Will not be going back there!
