Delightful place to spend a couple of hours. The cafe looks over the river, good food and good service. A stroll around the Gardens is a bonus. The Ledger Exhibition was very enlightening.

Benalla Art Gallery
A small-ish but modern and pleasant art gallery with 2 exhibition spaces. There is a cafe at the entrance. Interesting architecture with triangular windows above and large windows offering vistas of the bridge, river and gardens. Free entry. Ramp entrance - but can be slippery in wet weather. Car parking close by. A good place to visit on damp days..

The Benalla Art Gallery is a hidden gem settled by the river and adjacent to the Botanical Gardens. What could be better than a walk through glorious gardens ending with a tour of Australian art and a good cup of coffee!

Benalla Art Gallery
Stopped by here on the drive from Melbourne to Wodonga. Quaint art gallery with free entry, so you're not losing out on anything if your expectations aren't met. Cafe on site with both indoor and outdoor area by the lake. Didn't buy any food or drink so can't comment on that. I only wish they'd paint the outside of the building with some art work as it's quite an eye sore away from the entry.

Benalla Art Gallery
This gallery is wonderful. It’s very well run. There’s always good works on show and interesting exhibitions. We’ve been here three times and loved it each time. The Julie Shiels Exhibition here today was just delightful. Really entertaining. Really clever. Note, the cafe attached to the gallery is tremendous too. It’s a must do for a meal or snack and a coffee.

This is the diet Coke of art galleries. Staff were friendly. It is situated by the lake and parking is excellent. But it is very small. Entry is by donation so I recommend a visit if you are stopping for lunch.

A lovely quaint stop on on hot day when in Benalla. The cafe has a sheltered area on the deck to enjoy the view while choosing one of the delicious menu options. The attached gallery is great for a wander while waiting for lunch. The gardens offer nice walks to relax after lunch.

An incredible gallery but charging extra for extra plates when sharing nachos with your children? Doesn't make for a family friendly space. Makes me think children are not seen as important visitors here.

Great space to visit for art, some food and relaxation.We stopped by for breakfast and were pleased by the coffee (the strong coffee could’ve been stronger though) and generous sized meals. We got something savory and sweet and both had delicate flavours throughout - a nice change from the pubs around the area.Highly recommend a visit to the cafe.

Great Gallery in a beautiful setting.Sitting outside at the cafe is so relaxing.Had a yummy mud cake with soy cap.Friendly staff as well .
