Union Hotel
Great Pub food, excellent selection of Heathcote wines, extremely reasonable prices, friendly and attentive staff, the beer is amazingly cold too!!...for these reasons we continue coming back to The Union Hotel. It's worth noting that it's also the only place open for meals in town on a Monday.

Unfortunately, we decided to go to the Union Hotel for lunch. We went into the back dining room which had a table of six people seated, along with two other tables of two patrons. There were patrons in other rooms of the hotel having their meals.We sat down to look at their menu for a while. At that stage, we didn’t mind waiting to be acknowledged at our unset table and for our order to be taken. We did, however, observe a couple arrive just after us who sat at another unset table. It appeared they were not impressed with their fairly lengthy wait/lack of service as they got up and left .After about 20 minutes of watching neighbouring tables having their orders taken, we thought it was time for our patronage to be acknowledged. We smiled at the mature-aged waitress so our order could be taken.“Yep, what do you want?” was her “greeting”. We were somewhat taken aback with her abruptness and apparent inability to smile. We ordered our meals and she left. In contrast, I bought drinks from a bar person who was welcoming and friendly.Nearly one hour later, with our table still not set (the other tables were), we decided to leave as some of the patrons before us were still waiting for their meals. Who knows how much longer they had to wait before it was our turn? If we were advised there was going to be a long wait, we could have decided at the time of ordering whether stay or go.As we were leaving, I spoke with a man (manager/owner?) who appeared to be in charge to request for our meals be canceled. He asked why. In fairness to him, the man seemed genuinely concerned about our experience, asking for additional details. I believe he would have followed this up with the relevant waitress after we left.Sad that the hotel lost two tables of patrons that day.

I always have a good time at the Union. Welcoming, pleasant, great country pub. Great food tops it of.

I noticed i was surcharged on my receipt 4 times. Don't know for why. Went to query but they were shut. Other than that. Nice food

Union Hotel
This is an old pub that needs to be rejuvenated on the exterior, for it looks like it is closed and has been for some time.However, venturing inside and sitting down to order was a pleasant surprise. To top it off, the food we ordered was good too.We did not get anything to drink here but was observation was that there is limited choice for on tap beer, still there was choice though.Come in and try it for yourselves.You will not be disappointed.

We dropped in to the hotel for lunch. Food was very tasty, and portions generous. Staff were friendly and service prompt.

Union Hotel
We sat in the outside area & ordered a steak. Extremely disappointing as it was not chewable, the so called mashed potato had no taste. Our dog ended up getting a $33.00 steak and he even struggled to chew it. I would recommend the hotel employing someone who can cook. Definitely would not go back to eat here.

Fantastic service, delicious food and good value dinner spot. Staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food were great portions and delicious, good selection of local wines and tap beers. Will be back next time we're in Heathcote!

This pub has a good atmosphere and a great meal. Went with a party of 14, everyone's meal was great, service excellent, prices very good. Recommended.

We enjoyed a lovely meal and friendly service. Good prices for the meals. The chicken schnitzel was so tender, the best I've had in a hotel/pub. We will return for sure.
