PORT STEPHENS STEERING SERVICE

Don't be misled by the name 'Steering Service', these guys do all mechanical work. I live in Medowie however my usual (trusted) mechanic changed employers to Port Stephens Steering Service so my work on my cars naturally followed. A good choice for me, I get my usual mechanic who works with customer focused team that have provided me with professional and cost effective work.

After Visiting this garage on the 11th April with a flat tyre coming off the sand at port Stephens. I found this garage close by at Anna bay they kindly changed to my spare tyre as my spare was underneath the vehicle and I never had the tool to change it myself I wish I had done now.Only for the whole wheel to come flying off completely later that day leaving me in a road side accident and my wheel arch hanging off and the wheel 100 metres down the road in someone’s back garden . So lucky I was only going at around 40k mph if it had been on the freeway I wouldn’t be alive now to tell the story.Have been to 3 garages since this happened and they have all told me the wheel should have never come off my vehicle regardless if it was a spare tyre.When I arrived on the 11th April around lunchtime for my tyre to be changed the guy that done my tyre went out the back to ask his work employer something and was taking a while to change the tyre me and my friend was stood there nervy thinking has this guy changed a tyre before? and then the accident happened I am still in shock to this day. Without a doubt the scariest experience of my life.I would not want anybody else to experience what I had been through.You don’t expect to pay for a tyre to be changed and then to come flying off on your journey home.My trust for garages has gone now and has made me nervous ever since this day.The garage has shown no Remorse what so ever and taken no accountability. It’s absolutely horrifying how they can get away with it .
