Was in Sydney so grabbed a taxi to their warehouse/shop as they normally only sell online. Tools were actually set up and in use in their woodworking space so I could actually try them all out before buying !! Staff were so helpful and tools have been fantastic especially the rasp, gouge sharpening powder also works amazingly well thanks to their short tuition they gave me.

Japanese tools is just a dream to deal with. Rewards points, quality service and the best products. As a carpenter you rely on your tools and these folks have the best of the best. Hardened tool steel chisels which hold an edge and down to 3mm which is so difficult to source. Highly recommended in all levels. Products of this quality are not cheap but you can expect sales and quality every time for me. The Japanese are known for creating tools and cutters with the sharpest edge. You won't be disappointed I've been back and back. Very very happy customer!

The actual tools are high quality. The abysmal customer service is another story.I did not receive a tracking number for an order, which was claimed to have been sent to me in an email. Said email did not have a tracking number. After requesting a tracking number, I received the same email as if someone had lazily just hit resend without actually bothering to read the email I had sent.When confronted on this, all I received was pathetic excuses about we weren't in the office

I bought the Kakuri Precision Saw Set is beautifully made, with a smooth wood handle which the saw blades lock firmly into. The set has 4 pull-saws (as opposed to Western" push-saws) reducing the chance of jams during use. The kit comes in an streamlined canvas bag to keep everything secure and safe. I highly recommend them."

I ordered a couple of things from them and they all arrived substantially before initially estimated -- which gave me a lot of unexpected joy. Products are awesome, the packaging is immaculate and what you would expect of people selling Japanese tools and aware of the reverence Japanese craftspeople lavish on them. Their videos are extremely helpful and well done. They are now my number one go to place for Japanese tools. They rock!

I purchased the Okatsune Hedge Shears. I absolutely love them. They are light, lovely and sharp and great to use on shaping my hedges. I am so glad I purchased them. Delivery was quick and they came in a lovely little leather pouch.

Wonderful range of products and excellent service. My goodies came quickly by mail. Terry McKenna's book on sharpening Japanese woodcut tools is a must-have. I love my new very fine high quality woodcut u-gouge and my barens too--one for outlines and one for colour. Looking forward to visiting JTA in person next time we're in Sydney.
