Malayan Orchid | Established in 1993, the Malayan Orchid is an Asian fusion restaurant combining Chinese & Malayan cuisine. We offer both dine-in & takeaway. Waited over a year to dine here.Won't be waiting that long until I am back next week.Out of this world. Quality service, sublime food. Shame they'd run out of kangaroo: but that's what happens sometimes. The Beef Rendang was sublime.Honestly, I think I have a new favourite for dinner in Bendigo.

Just spent our 3rd anniversary date here. We ordered the banquet for $68 per person and a bottle of wine. It was totally worth it! We absolutely loved every single meal that came out. Andrew the chef did an amazing job! My favorite was the crab on top of curry sauce. My partner loved the dumplings. The ramen and the meat in it was so perfectly cooked. Loved the variety in the dessert. All the staff were super nice and accommodating. Tammy provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend and will definitely have dinner here again! Cheers

Went with a large group and we had the banquet, which for $38 was good value. The food was delicious and there was enough for everyone. Service was pretty good and the staff were friendly. Was quite crowded though and parking not always close.

Malayan Orchid Restaurant
Have been before and the food was delicious. However, this time the service was atrocious. We booked for 2 at 6pm and advised we were going to a show at 7:30. When we arrived, the waitress couldn't find our booking but then it appeared after much back and forth. By 6:30 no one had asked for our order so we waved down a waitress and we were told she could 'only' take drinks and will get someone else. We waited and waited and then finally ordered at 6:40. The waiter asked if we had a 'time' we needed to leave, we said 7:10 due to the show, he said no problem. At 7 still no food so we waved down a waitress who said she'll check. One main arrived at 7:05. The second at 7:10. We scoffed our food so fast and asked for takeaway containers. The waiter disappeared for ages and then came back with one small container for two people! We basically packed our food, wrapped our roti in the napkin and made a dash. I went to pay and the cashier looked grumpy, no smile and no apology for the long wait even though I mentioned it. Lots of confused and unhappy people waiting for takeaway. A gentleman outside saw me dash out and said he was seething. Absolutely no apologies from any of the staff.

I don't know how this restaurant rated 4.4 star on google. Growing up as a chinese Malaysian, the dishes we ordered taste nothing like Malaysian or Indonesian or Nyonya. The special fried rice is the worst dish me& family ever tasted. The other 3 dishes all had the same vegetables, i can honestly say the kangaroo meat was the best of all dishes. Service was great, all waiter waitresses were excellant. Sorry to say we won't be returning to this restaurant

Everything was nice. Price is affordable for a good nasi goreng. Staff are friendly and nice. It’s 4 stars because they’re not open on a lunch time. Overall, it was a lovely experience. ❤️

Absolutely wonderful meal and fantastic atmosphere. This was the first time we've ever been here and we loved it. They easily catered for my vegan preference. The meals came out quickly, were great portion sizes and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly also.We will definitely be back again for sure.

Thank you Tammy, what a lovely experience. The meals were very well presented, and the taste was nothing less than delicious. With crisp, perfectly balanced flavour and clean taste to the palette.The atmosphere was perfect, The decor is easy on the eye and well-placed.These pictures do not do it justice at all.Definitely will be a return dinner.
